You dusted off your clothing the best you could and took off down the port following your starry companion. You weren't sure exactly where the group of men were headed, but you were confident the two of you could find them. Afterall, the area was not terribly crowded and you figured that their group probably was not the greatest at blending in, given their stature and all.
Lo and behold, you were right. Supernova picked up a sizeable heat trail that led right up to a dock with a huge boat, and you caught sight of the group just as they were boarding. Your eyes lingered in their direction as they settled somewhere away from the railing out of view.
I have to get on that boat... but how?
As you sat in wonder, Supernova continued to scrutinize the area. This would not be the first time the two of you snuck onto a boat; however, it would be the first time you attempted to board one so guarded. A moment passed and you felt a tug on your sleeve pulling you out of your stupor. You looked over to see Supernova pertinently gesturing to a collection of boxes and crates. Taking a look around, you could see that there were still some ship workers hurrying to transport the cargo onto the boat
Bingo.
You waited until their current round was done, leaving the crates unattended. Quickly, you scurried over and pried open one of the larger boxes. Once open, you climbed inside and replaced the lid above you. You settled against the contents of the crate. You had to make sure you were in a position that wouldn't shift around too much once the workers returned to grab it. Although it was dark, there didn't seem to be anything too alarming in there, just standard shipping insulation. Thank goodness. With any luck, I didn't just make a huge mistake and they are actually coming back for this box...
A few moments passed and you heard some shuffling from outside. Your lungs relaxed as you let out a breath you were not aware you were holding. Quietly, you attempted to brace yourself against the box's inner walls, and you soon felt the crate get hoisted into the air.
A deep voice muffled from outside. "Does this box seem heavy to you? I thought it was supposed to be empty."
Another chastised. "You've been complaining about how heavy all the boxes are. Stop your whining and just help get this onto the boat. That Joestar guy keeps hounding me about how far behind schedule we already are."
After a couple minutes of being jostled around, you stopped, and the box hit the ground again with a resounding THUD. Your head racked against the side of the crate in the process, and you had to bite your tongue hard to keep any noise from escaping your throat. Silently, you seethed until you heard all footsteps trail away from your current whereabouts. You allowed yourself to let out a stifled groan.
I can't risk getting caught until I know we have pulled away from the dock. If I get revealed before then, they are just going to throw me out. For now, I might as well sit here and rest.
You laid there listening for a long while. There was the occasional sound of stomping boots and dropping crates, but eventually it all stopped. A while later, you heard a low hum emanate from the hull as the floor started to vibrate.
Great. It's taking off. I still need to wait a bit. Though, this sound is so soothing, maybe I can rest my eyes for a few minutes. Yeah, that won't hurt anything. I've got plenty of air in here anyhow... And it's so warm...
You closed your eyes and drifted into a comfortable slumber.
*BANG BANG BANG*
You awoke from the silence with the unsettling feeling of your heart leaping up into your throat.
