The faint petrichor smell of the antecedent rainfall that had bypassed reeked in Mikasa's nostrils as she trudged tiredly through the rundown streets of Tokyo. This part of Tokyo didn't have the ostentatious lights or bewitching tourist attractions that adorned the more prominent part of the city. At one point Mikasa was unsure if she was really in Japan and not just some lamentable part of West Palm. She shivers violent as a gust of harsh wind sweeps by, brushing at her dampened clothes Zach favored her in.
The streets were peculiarly quiet. All things in sight looking still and ominous. It was a creepy scene right out of one of those murder crime movies. It didn't help that the very few people accompanying this part that she has seen thus far were smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol.
Everything was beginning to ache. Her body was taking on a level of numb that made her feel out of control. Her body just went about without feeling, her mind unable to even grow the power to will her body a certain type of way. It didn't come as a surprise when she barely reacts to the splintering pain of a stray glass shard lacerating the arch in her foot.
Mikasa's face contorts with minimum pain as she limply makes her way to a very much abysmal building that made some of the less sufficient ones stand out more. Pulling the glass piece out wasn't all that hard, but there was no hiding the small shriek that escaped her dry lips that followed right after.
Squeezing her eyes shut and balling up a knuckle somehow was an automatic pain reliever Mikasa finds herself doing to rid of the pain. She looks down briefly at her feet to scrutinize the line of blood beginning to swiftly flood from the cut in the pitch of the darkness.
Carefully, she sets her feet down back into place on the grimy, dirt ingrained pavement, standing on her toes more than the entirety of her foot to further stimulate the injury. "Shit," Mikasa grumbled when her wounded foot begins to twitch on impulse, the nerves at the bottom speeding all throughout her leg.
Mikasa walks at a safe, slow pace to keep from inflicting any further pain, but it didn't help that the sidewalk was covered in more than just minerals and fragmented glass shards. In less than twenty feet she found herself braking at another building at the near end of the street. She tries to swallow down another yelp but falls still when the eerily sound of footsteps close in from behind her.
"What are you doing out here all alone girly?" A haughty, grim voice articulated with a smug grin that could be heard in his clearly drunk voice. Hot breath fanned against her neck, erecting the hairs on it. The obvious smell of alcohol dominates her nose; she visibly cringes at the smell. Her eye twitches when she feels a rough hand begin to caress her from the locks of her short hair to the cuff of her ass.
Mikasa didn't possess the snarky attitude to quip right away as she use to back then. She could barely even find the energy to process what was happening. Her body hardly could move on its own without any additional efforts to keep herself still, and that included holding herself down.
Instead of responding Mikasa just begins to trudge away, eyes half reeled open as she recommences to find her way anywhere of the matter. Rain didn't sit well in the dark with poorly lit streets. Getting lost was anticipated on her part but still seemed a bit unrealistic. God, Mikasa hated this.
To think she only came her to reclaim her love for Eren and just surprise him—it all blew up right in her face in an instant: her future, her desires and wishes, all for Eren.
All of that to walking alone in the mediocre streets with no Eren around at her side to tell her that all she had been suffering ever since she landed, that it would all be okay.
She got that Eren wanted out of the marriage and that he confessed to her his real feelings and pleaded to her. He kisses her as well.
At the moment, Mikasa was on board with the whole idea. Letting Eren get out of his marriage was her ticket to being with him again and securing the future she's always wanted.
