I had this halfway done the other day. Came back to it yesterday and all of it was gone for some ungodly reason. I was really annoyed at first but it probably needed to be rewritten anyway. Maybe I should start writing all my stuff on the PC from now on.....As for the art, I did this when I was first practicing digital art. It's of a character of mine~
Things had definitely changed quickly, more so than you imagined. It was a little scary at first but Cracker was sure to help you work through it every step of the way. His mother, Linlin, got news of his and Alvida's breakup rather fast. Instead of waiting for her to come unglued on him, Cracker quit his job, telling you she'd relax about the whole thing if he gave her some space. At least most of his siblings weren't treating him badly about it. Peros got him an interview for a security job and Katakuri even came over a few times to check in on you two.
The stern older brother came in handy when you and Cracker agreed to move in together to save money now that your budget had become much tighter. He was still intimidating to you, but not nearly as much after spending some time moving Cracker's stuff into your place and talking together for a bit. He lightened up and became more open after you offered him some home made doughnuts. Your lover was sure to let you know about Katakuri's weakness to them before he came over.
You were frustrated when Linlin made good on her threat to ruin your baking business. She'd pulled some strings and your website had disappeared overnight and you were no longer getting any orders in through text or email either. Whatever she did had to be illegal, but you weren't going to try taking her to court over it, you had a feeling it wouldn't do anything for you. You expected something like that to happen and though it left you teary eyed and mopey for a couple days, you bounced back fast and dedicated yourself solely to art instead.
It was easier to focus on one job anyway. Since then you've been able to make a few commissions and gotten some good income that way. It wasn't the same as what you made before but it was enough to scrape by. Cracker was smart and had money put away for emergencies as well so you two would be able to make it for a few months without him having a job if it took that long to find one. But he was persistent in his search and landed the interview Peros set him up with in just under a month. You were confident he'd get the job, he seemed excited for the chance to do a more physically demanding career.
"This is as good as I'm going to look." Cracker grumbled, adjusting his shirt. "Here's hoping I get the job."
*You look fine, you'll get it.*
"You think?" Cracker smiled. He'd been learning sign language just for you and was picking up on it fast. It was getting rare for him to misunderstand something you said. You didn't think it was possible for someone to catch on to it so quickly but he proved you wrong.
*I know. Now go get it.*
He giggled and kissed you. "Yes ma'am. I'll be back soon, I love you."
*Love you too.*
He left and you decided to work on your tablet and get some practice in with digital art. With Cracker having moved in, you found the tablet while making room for some of his stuff. It was in the back of your closet, still in the box, completely untouched. You'd gotten it for yourself a few years back and forgotten about it almost immediately. Now that you'd had some time to play with it, you'd started to make some halfway decent stuff with it.
You fiddled with it for a solid hour, drawing a cute wolf. You were a sucker for canines and they were fun to draw. Practicing the different textures between the wolf and the background was nice too. Once done with that, you put the tablet to the side and gazed around the room. There were a few boxes that still needed organizing from Cracker moving in. Might as well work on that until he comes home.
