"That's an ocean, alright," Harako breathed.

The Night Pride had reached their second landmark.  It was fairly far from the river, and they started to wonder if they passed it.  Until they reached it, that is.

"Vue?"  Risasi asked.  "Can you see a way around?  Or through?"

"On it," Vue flew up and across the water.

"We'll get there soon, Risasi," Fermet assured.

"The sooner the better," Risas agreed.  "This scar doesn't feel good at all."

"Don't worry," Ushujaa said to her mate.  "You'll be fine."

Vue came flying down.

"This is the shortest way across, but it'll involve some swimming," he said.

"Swimming.  Woo," Harako said dryly.

"We could try using the Roar," Risasi said.  "But I don't fully trust myself not to lose control."

"I don't, either," Risas said.

Enye looked in the gourd that his staff had.

"We should have enough shaant to keep you under control," he said.

"Dhanyavaad, Enye," Risasi thanked, licking up the shaant.  Risas thanked Enye and licked up the shaant as well.

Risasi closed her eyes, trying to summon the Roar.  The wind picked up with dark clouds until she Roared with Risas beside her.  She gestured with her tail for the Night Pride to follow her and Risas through the split water.  They got across, and the lions stopped Roaring, panting.

"Vue?"  Risasi panted.  It had taken her more energy than she thought it would to keep the Roar under control.  Even then, she barely kept it.

"We still have more of the ocean to cross," Vue said.

"Okay, okay," Risasi looked up at the sky.  "I can use the Roar one more time."

Bears were approaching on them quickly.

"Do you know these bears, Risasi?"  Vovchak asked.

"Nope," Risasi turned the ocean and Roared.  The clouds were darker than when she did it to get to island.

"Go!"  She commanded, the whole Night Pride running with her.

When they finished running, the water fell behind them.  The ground started to shake.

"Risasi?"  Fermet asked.

"I'm fine!"  Risasi snapped.  "Get to higher ground!"

The Night Pride managed to get to higher ground before the ground stopped shaking.  They were safe.

"Night Pride," Risasi said, "let's keep going."

"Let's go," Risas agreed.

Ushujaa and Fermet and pulled Enye to the back.

"I don't think the shaant's working," Fermet said.  "Risasi's fiery, but she wouldn't snap at me like that."

"And Risas would try to get her under control," Ushujaa agreed.

"We're close to the Arbre de la Vie," Enye assured.  "There should be just one more landmark.  But they might have to rely on you two to keep them calm."

"Right," Fermet nodded his thanks.  He ran up to his mate and stopped her.  "Are you okay right now?"

"I'm fine!"  Risasi snapped.  "I told you that already!  Leave me alone!"
