MARICAR as a boss seldom shouts at her employees. There were times she was hard but never harsh.

Except for today.

"What?!" She raised her voice upon hearing what Tania had reported, "How did that customer leave unpaid?"

"Ma'am, we didn't know either. There's a lot of customers and Kuya Paeng is absent--"

"What?! Where's Kuya Paeng?"

Tania bit her lip as it was really obvious that she's nervous with her mood, "Ma'am, h-he won't be able to report since his son is sick," her voice is shaking.

"Sick?" she let out a sigh, "Again? Last time his wife is sick and now his son, who's next?" she couldn't help but sound irritated. That reason was so used.

"What's happening here?" Maricris entered her office, "Go, Tania. I've got this"

Tania headed outside as she closed the door, "What's wrong with you? My sister who's probably the most patient person that I knew, was pissed. Care to tell me why?"

She didn't want to answer that so she focused herself on her computer to answer some emails yet she tends to push different keys, "Shit! Why is this laptop--"

"Stop murdering the keyboard, it won't fight back," Maricris said again and went beside her, "C'mon, what happened?"

She looked into her eyes, "Hormones.. ." she lied. Of course, she can't tell about Tristan's reaction.

"I do understand you but do me a favor? Stop displacing that mood swings to your crew. They didn't do anything wrong. You should blame it all to Tristan. He's the one who got you pregnant"

That made her stop. Damn it.

This isn't just about her hormones. This is about Tristan and what he thought about their child. She can't even say it.

"It's been three days, Ate. It's been three days but still, there's no sign of Tristan! " and she's getting paranoid!

"Did you guys fight?" Maricris asked, "Have you tried to call him?"

She shook her head no, "It wasn't me who should call, I didn't do anything wrong," she pouted her lips.

Maricris nodded, "Fine" yet she sounds unconvincing, "As you say so"

"Ate, if you were in my position I think you would get offended, too!"

Maricris crossed her arms and looked at her, "Okay, what did he tell that offended you this much?"

She bit her lip. Still unsure if she would tell Maricris the truth because she knew her sister. She is a fine woman but when it comes to family, she could go gaga.

"Does he know that you're pregnant?" She sighed and nodded as a response, "What did he say?"

This is it, "He asked who's the father," she was preparing herself to hear her reaction but Maricris remained silent.

That's new.

Did she hear it? Did she believe her?

"Ate, he asked!" She blurted out, "Aren't you going to be offended if you were in my position?"

"I'll be offended"

"See?" She would never cheat on him and he should know that! They've known each other for seven years! He knew that she was not that kind of girl.

But as they looked into each other's eyes, there she knew that Maricris wanted to say something.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"
