"You were with him again, weren't you?" Eva is looking at me with a small smile.

"I was," I say shamefully when I remember spending the whole night talking to Max on the rooftop. I hear her laugh and I can't help but laugh along with her.

I love this feeling when you and your best friend are laughing so hard at something so simple that your stomach aches and you run out of breath.

It feels like the whole world slows down and nothing exists except you and her, everything feels so good and nothing seems impossible. At these moments I feel like everything is going to be alright.

"Do you think I'm being stupid?" I ask her after a while.

"Only time will tell, Sash, I just don't want him to break you again," she looks thoughtful.

"You know," Eva continues, "it's kinda weird, isn't it, how one person walks out of the door feeling relieved, while the other one falls to the floor not knowing how to go on."

I nod sadly and look away.
