Jace's POV
As we walked inside, I saw pictures of a man in decorated military uniform, I paused and inspected the image. I heard Zofia behind me "My father, Jan Bosak, decorated commander of Grom." I turned "I see, what was it like?" She looked at me confused "Having a father that was a decorated commander, what was it like?" She sighed "Stressful, regimented but it made me who I am so ultimately it was good for me" I nodded as we reached the living room to see kilo laying on Zofia's daughter. She was laughing as I smiled Zofia walked in and leaned against her husband "Zofia please atleast start packing before you go to sleep, I don't want to stay in one place too long" she nodded as I moved outside setting down seismic sensors along the edge of the property I sat down against a tree in the back yard setting a camo net up in front of me covering me from the eye while still allowing me to monitor everything going on in the backyard. I sighed now missing my NVGs I'll have to keep my nv scope on hand. I glanced at my watch 6:30 as Lera came out and was looking around as I stuck a hand out of the netting "Here" she walked over and sat down next to me "You're not eating?" I shook my head "I don't want to waste time eating when I should be out here watching for any sign of Lesion and Ying" she looked at me "you need to eat, where do you want me?" I looked over and smiled at her concern "I'll be fine without food for a night, and Ill want you inside with the I need someone I trust completely to be able to protect them if I'm neutralized," her smile quickly vanished "No, you're not allowed" I looked over with an eyebrow cocked "What do you mean?" She looked down "Youre not allowed to die, I can't lose you I can't handle the idea" I sighed "Fine, come on. Let's get inside." She looked at me "I thought you didn't want to risk it?" I looked at the sky "I've installed seismic sensors, it'll set off an alarm on my phone if someone steps foot in the yard. I just wanted to have the extra layer, I'll take tonight to spend some time with you before setting up watch until they finish packing." She nodded with a smile and we walked inside, Zofia spoke "bad news, our spare bedroom only has one bed so you two will have to share." I nodded "Yes ma'am" as I walked into the room I heard Lera talking to Zofia but didn't listen and set about disassembling and cleaning gustaves revolver "I'll get her using this for you Gus" I heard Lera enter as I started clothing down the cylinder "I didn't take you for the revolver kind of guy" I looked up "It was gustaves" she nodded sadly "you're okay with us sharing a bed, right? She nodded with a smirk "Its not the worst thing to happen to me" I shrugged with indifference "I'll sleep on the floor if it's that much of a bother, I'm sure kilo would love to cuddle" she just stared at me "alright alright relax" as I finished cleaning the cylinder and started reassembling the revolver I sighed as I paused "Lera..." I heard her hum in reply "hmm?" My hands stilled shaking slightly "if I don't make it..." she spoke "Don't... don't finish that sentence" I continued anyway "...I want you to take care of Kilo." I heard a light gasp before a shaky "what did I say?" I turned around "I know but you know just as well as I do, no matter how much I want to survive I can't promise that I will" she turned to me "I know but I don't like the thought" I sighed "I know, I don't either. I don't think I can bear losing another" as I turned back to the table and resumed reassembling the revolver before placing my phone on the table playing I don't dance and singing along, knowing that Lera was sitting on the bed behind me listening and swaying to the song.

I set down the pistol and stood up walking around to the other side of the bed extending my hand "Can I have this dance, madam?" She shook off the shock and smiled giving me her hand I put one hand on her waist and taking her other hand as we started dancing around the room, I'd spin her ever now and again while singing along to the song as it ended I pulled her close into a hug before kissing her forehead as I hear giggles at the doorway, looking over I see Zofia's daughter, who I've learned is named Amelia, peaking around the corner giggling. I released Lera and snuck to the doorway as she pulled away to hide before I launched around the corner grabbing her and tickling her causing her to shriek while I say "this is what you get when you spy on people, Kilo!" I heard kilo running to me as I crouched down "Give her kisses" as kilo runs up and starts licking Amelias face incessantly before switching targets to me "No! No kilo! bad! Friendly fire, friendly fire!" As Lera laughs with Amelia escaping. I heard footsteps growing closer but couldn't see as kilo was still licking me. I heard Lera say "Hey Zofia, what's the worry?" Only to hear Zofia laugh "why is kilo licking him?" Amelia spoke up "I was spying on them as they danced and he caught me and started tickling me." Zofia looked at her and then kilo "What does that have to do with him being licked by Kilo?" As I yelled "Kilo, Heel!" She stopped and sat down as I whipped my face clean as Lera answered "Well He called kilo to give her kisses since that typically gets kids laughing and kilo was on his side before turning on him, leaving him in that predicament." Zofia laughed as she looked at me and Lera "So why were you two dancing?" I sighed as Lera looked at me still red from the kiss to the forehead "I wanted to be a civvie for a bit" Zofia nodded pressing on "Still doesn't explain why you were dancing with Lera" I looked at her she knows "I like her a lot" I heard Amelia gasp "Are you two like mommy and daddy?" I laughed "No little one" she pouted "I'm not little and if you aren't why do you two act like them?" Zofia spoke up "Yeah Jace, why do you two act like that?" I looked at her "you aren't letting this go without me saying it, are you?" She shook her head as Lera asked "Without saying what?" Zofia motioned me to go on I sighed before standing up and turning to Lera "Lera melnikova..." she looked at me suddenly dead focused on me "I'm falling for you... hard" just then my phone alarm went off I picked it up and saw on of the seismic sensors picked up something I grabbed the revolver and some ammo loading it as I ran towards the back yard "Zofia, Lera protect them, pick a room and hunker down if I'm not back in 5 minutes I'm dead, Kilo Protect" I heard Lera "Come back to me" as I ran out to the backyard. I paused and waited for movement, Liu(Lesion) walked out "Hello Jace, been a while" I nodded "yeah, you lot almost caught me slipping" liu smiled "Really? That was unexpected" I chuckled "Almost is the key word" he laughed "Maybe, but Zofia's family? They're unimportant to us." I nodded "Shame the police won't see it that way" he looked at me "you called the cops?" I laughed "oh dear god no, I'm not that unsportsmanlike. They'll just be here when I get done dismembering you" he stopped the pleasantries "we will win, we've got the masks working with us! We've been training them! We'll let the rest live if you come with us" I chuckled lowly "I'll give you one chance to leave with your life and run to Lion" he pulled his pistol as I yanked the revolver up and fired into his hand. He dropped to the ground screaming in pain. I looked at his form "You really thought you'd kill me right here? I think Lion would be pretty upset with you, since he wants to kill me himself" He looked up at me as I waited for Ying to make her entrance. I turned my back to him "So where's Ying? I didn't think you'd be so stupid to attack 3 rainbow operators alone especially since you want me captured" just then Siu(Ying) came flying off the roof with her knife dragging it across my shoulder as she flew past me rolling into a defensive position in front of Lesion. I smiled "Siu, welcome to the party I've got a new toy I'd like to play with so you mind?" As I pulled my SEAL knife and karambit out staring at Siu with the intent to kill Lesion.
