i walk downstairs and see a brown paper pag and note that reads 'got you your usual, have a good day mija :)' i smile down at it and take it. i grab my schoolbag and get into my car. i drive to school while drinking my pumpkin spice latte.
as soon as i get there, i park my car and finish up my cornbread muffin. i spot an unfamiliar truck park next to mine. i shrug it off, but then i here a soft tapping at the passenger's window. as soft as it was, i still managed to get startled. i look over to see alejandro. i unlock the door, allowing his entry. 'dont do that, you scared the living heavens out of me!' i say as we laugh it off. 'are you nervous for school again?' he asks. i shook my head. 'im just nervous to talk to zach, especially after- well, you know.' i say. 'yea, but that honestly wasnt cool of him atlas. you really dont see how horribly he treats you.' he states. 'ugh tell me about it. actually, dont. i've heard enough from alvaro.' i say as he chuckles.
fast forward to lunch, and im sitting at a table with the boys, zach, talissa, and ximena. but today, ximena and talissa are off in their own conversation, while me and zach are talking about our date plans for tomorrow, saturday. all of a sudden we hear an announcement.
'hello everyone, if we could just have your attention for a moment. we have our homecoming nominees on a list right here. for prom king, we have kairi cosentino, alejandro rozario, zachary smitty,' those were the only names i could recognize, but there were like four other unfamiliar ones. 'and for prom queen, we have atlas avalos,' wait- I WAS NOMINATED! i had short celebration in my head '... and finally talissa tracy.' they announced. 'oh my god congrats talissa!' me and ximena both hyped her up, with ximena also hyping me up. 'thanks. i already know im gonna win. all the boys love me!' talissa says. okay, whatever keeps you motivated girl. i could see ximena softly roll her eyes. she saw me notice, so i shrugged softly. meanwhile, talissa was getting cocky about it. ugh. but something to be excited about, HOMECOMING IS NEXT WEEKEND WOOHOO!
