After the party, they would madly fall in love with each other, and Charles wouldn't mind at all the fact that Jane's family is not as rich as his, but he's sister will. Reason why she will make the impossible to separate them.
Indeed, she will begin a rumor about Jane. She will say she is dating another guy from high school and (as the evil queen she is) she will find the way to take a picture of the two of them together.
Charles, after seeing this, will be disappointed and will leave town with his sister.
Eventually, when he comes back he will find out it was all a lie and they will date and be happy (#couplegoals)
