Reluctantly, Harrison had to tell everything about the arrangement between him and y/n to Tom. The brunette was persistent and ultimately harassed the blonde to the point where he had no other option but to tell him, just to have a peaceful moment for himself where he could hear his own thoughts and not Tom's voice drilling into his skull nagging about the same thing over and over again.
His friend's reaction wasn't what Harrison expected, but in all honesty, he couldn't imagine Tom approving something like that so easily. It certainly didn't bother the brunette, he was just worried about the outcome. "It's all fun and games until someone ends up getting hurt, Harrison." Tom warned, watching through the fire as Harrison shifted in his seat.
"I know that already, Tom." Harrison grumbled, tangling his arms across his chest, he tried to not be mad at Tom's concern they were best friends and he knew Tom was just looking out for him.
"I don't think you thought it through—" Tom began only to be cut short by his friend.
"I did." Harrison insisted, trying to convince not only Tom but himself as well that it was all under control, only the tone of his voice didn't do much in his favour. His vocal cords felt a little tight making his voice come out a bit too wobbly for his liking.
"Did you?" Silence. Tom let out a sigh before he spoke again. "Look, just be careful okay? With the sex and most importantly with the feelings. That ain't a game, mate." The boy spoke lowly, not wanting anyone to hear what they were talking about which Harrison appreciated immensely.
"Mmh." Harrison hummed and scooted to the edge of the garden chair, wiping the sweat on his palms on his light washed jeans, "Don't tell anyone about it." He requested, his eyes locked with Tom's.
"Harry has suspicions." Tom informed. Now the call made sense, y/n's unspoken worries from earlier that day were confirmed then and Harrison let out a deep sigh thinking on how she might take the fact that Harry was probably onto something after all.
"Just... Don't say anything. Please." The blonde boy begged lowly, the flames of the small crackling fire in the middle of the garden table warmed and illuminated their faces making them shine with orange hues.
"I won't." Tom vowed, watching Harrison nod once before he got up from the chair and walked back inside the house. Harry and Tuwaine were in the living room playing video games, yelling at each other to make the right move so they could win. He quietly strolled up to his room and closed the door behind him, he went through the motions of changing his clothes with a blank stare and a running mind.
Thinking back on what Rae said to him at the beginning of the week, he knew the guy said it out of spite because at what Harrison gathered the guy had messed up his audition and he blamed y/n for not getting the part, rubbing on her face that she wasn't over what had happened at BRIT. But what Rae said to him was lower than what he said to y/n. 'Not surprised you're still lingering around her like a fly guarding a pile of shit. She wasn't into you back then what makes you believe she's gonna be into you now?' It all played back in his head, and not only that day but also the day Rae had given y/n that horrible panic attack at what was supposed to be her best night.
Her head rested on his shoulder, his arms were wrapped around her waist as they sat on the damp grass of one of the green blocks outside the school, the night was cold but the effort of regulating her breathing had left a thin layer of sweat coating her face, neck and chest. She was staring up at the sky covered in dark grey clouds as she hiccupped with every few breaths she took. "D'you wanna go home?" He asked softly, squeezing her gently and leaning his cheek on her head.
