The Unexpected Prime (On Hiatus and Editing)

Chapter 18

"The energon we were in the amidst of retrieving was fired upon causing a large mass explosion rendering to fall back outside the mine ." Optimus explained as he was being looked over by Ratchet.

"The ground bridge opened in the nick of time before the freeze sat in our joints"  said Bulkhead as he was rubbing his arm covered up in frost.

Optimus turned his gaze and pointed at Ratchet's right arm which had my claw marks. " How did this happen?" Optimus asked concerned.

"It's nothing, your health has more priority than my own right now. " Spoke out Ratchet gently covering up his scar marks with his other hand.

"How's Silver doing Ratchet?" Said Arcee changing the subject.

"She's stable...for now" Ratchet responded relieved. I wiggled one of my claws, it looked like the effects wore off. I got up and tried to walk toward bee, but to eventually be caught in his arms.

"Thanks Bee, that was a bit of a struggle. Hey Ratchet, what did you put in that stuff cause I'm still kinda wobbly!?" I called out annoyed.

"Like I said before, I made your joints unstable for a few hours. Nothing serious, I don't know when it'll wear off. So you'll have to just sit tight for a while longer Silver." He responded pressing some buttons in the keyboard for the monitor.

I sighed in frustration, I had some more training to do with my shifting but that'll have to wait. Bee carried me back to the medical platform, he scratched my head a bit just how my brother did. It felt good, he stood up and went over to where bulkhead was. Bee was playing with him of what the humans call 'dodgeball'. They had fun while the children were cheering them on from the sidelines. Optimus was nowhere to be seen. Arcee was out on patrol while Ratchet was working on the monitor again. Then one of the children came down towards me, it was jack.

"What's wrong silver? Still mad with Ratchet about the thing?"

"Nothing, I'm not mad with ratchet anymore. It's just that I'm scared of what will happen to me in the future?"

"No one ever knows silver"

We both went silent, "Hey can i tell you something?" 

"Sure" jack replied.

"After the battle to get Bumblebee back, in the puddle of starscream's spilt energon, I saw a wolftacon that looked similar to my frame but with energon dripping in its mouth and had purple eyes. It's body had shapes around her body and some of it around her eye was torn away to reveal my inner parts but behind that creature was Unicron. I got scared that it was me in the future since now I have dark energon and everything." I said nervously.

"That sounds scary. Why didn't you tell Optimus about this before Silver?" He asked.

"Optimus has to many problems weighing on him right now, I didn't want to add more for him to carry right now. So can you please keep this conversation between us only Jack?" I requested.

"Alright, I'll keep this between us Silver"

He walked off in the direction of ratchet, 'Wonder why he's even bothering Ratchet for? Huh, non of my concern now'. I tried to stand this time, and I didn't fall. 'Finally the effects had worn off on me, I can walk towards the tunnel and be outside now.' I ran towards the tunnel as fast as I could, I ran through it with all my might to end up reaching the sun above. I finally managed to get outside without anyone noticing me, it was a relief for once.

 I looked behind me and looked up, I saw the cliff high above that was hiding the base from the decepticons. I ran up to the edge and climbed it as fast and as hard as I could manage. I dug my claws into the mountain and after I went up a few feet, I could see below me the marks left behind by my claws. I finally made it to the top a few minutes later and when I peeked above the ledge, I saw Optimus standing and looking just toward the horizon opposite me. I got up and silently walked over to him, I sat right beside him just looking at the horizon with him.

"You do know that we have a elevator going from downstairs to the roof Silver?" Optimus spoke up calmly still looking at the horizon.

"I know but I wanted to climb it myself since now the effects have finally worn off and I can move again." I said, 'I actually didn't know we had an elevator downstairs to the roof, opps'.

"It's not about who you are, but rather who you are going to be-"  Optimus randomly quoted . "-..Jack told me about your conversation downstairs a moments ago while you were busy."

" Jack told you our whole conversation from downstairs. He's gonna pay once I find his little aft" I said irritated. "Anyways, Optimus of what you just said a few minutes ago. Is it true, that it isn't about being who you are but about who you are going to be?" I asked trying to change the subject off of my revenge.

"It may be true in some cases but to yours, it may be possible." Optimus responded turning his direction down to me.

"I see" 

It was silent for a moment, 

"It is normal to be afraid Silver, everyone in their lifetimes has been afraid, their friends and themselves trying not to fall into the deception. We have our struggles, but that is why we have to face these fears or they will overwhelm you and eventually kill you in the end Silver." He said with strong gentleness.

"Optimus, I cant go back to see myself again in that image. It terrifies me so much knowing that whoever's energon that is could be any of you, I don't want to see it fulfill. I've had enough of death and lies all my life, it's too much." I confessed to Optimus.

"Then we will be be your side till it is no more, you will turn from the fate that awaits you together" he said bending down placing a servo on my slumped shoulder.

"Thank you Optimus" I replied, a smile formed on my muzzle as I gazed into his optics.
