Roy woke up early the next morning, washed his face, brushed his teeth, and headed for the kitchen. He needed to go see if Kimberly had eaten her dinner because when he made dinner last night and called her to come to eat,  she said she was going to join him later but he waited until he felt sleepy and eventually went to bed, so he needed to know if she had dinner.

He went into the kitchen and found it the same way he had left it last night which meant she didn't come down for dinner last night causing him to get worried. He turned around and headed for her bedroom. On getting there, he took a deep breath before knocking on the door but there was no response. He knocked twice and still got no response so instead of still knocking on the door, he quietly opened it so as not to make any noise in case she was still asleep but to his surprise, she wasn't in the room.

Where could she have gone to? But her bed is still rumpled like she just got out of bed, so where is she?

Roy suddenly heard a noise coming from the bathroom. He walked in that direction and knocked on the door before going in. He saw Kimberly throwing up in the toilet. He did the closest thing he could think of, which was to hold her hair back and rub her back while she threw up.

Kimberly couldn't sleep all through the night no matter how hard she tried because she felt so scared and alone. Whenever she tried closing her eyes, images of her new friends and fiance kept flashing inside her head. Her mind couldn't think of anything else other than that and it was beginning to take a toll on her as she was already feeling sick. She couldn't bring herself to have dinner.

How could she when her fiance and friends were all dead?

Eating would only mean that she was glad they were gone which wasn't true. Thinking about it, she wished she was dead like the others, that would've been easier and less tormenting because she had no clue if she was even going to make it out alive in these woods and even if she did, how was she going to face her dad?

How was she going to tell him the truth without losing his trust?

All these thoughts kept running through her head until she felt sick in her stomach. She hurriedly climbed out of bed and ran into the bathroom to throw up but the only thing coming out of her system was bile, making her eyes sting. Gosh, her mouth felt so bitter!

Kimberly felt empty inside but her system was saying otherwise as she still felt sick in her stomach causing her to throw up some more bile. Her whole body was soaked in sweat and she was dehydrated but taking water at this moment would do her no good, it would only make her feel more irritated.

Kimberly was still throwing up when she suddenly felt someone's hand soothing her back. After minutes of emptying her already empty stomach, she flushed the toilet and turned on the faucet to wash her mouth and face before turning to hug Roy tightly, crying into his chest.

Roy couldn't believe it, his mate was in his arms and needed his comfort. He was tense at first by her sudden contact, but later relaxed and returned the hug. Her body was perfect against his and he couldn't help but get lost in her scent. Her skin was so smooth and soft, softer than he had imagined. This was like heaven after so many years of going through hell. He had yearned for her for so many years and now she was in front of him. His life, his everything was in his arms.

His wolf was slowly beginning to take over as it couldn't wait any longer to mark his mate. He nuzzled her neck not having complete control of his actions as his canines were itching to protrude but he fought with his wolf while still trying to keep his composure in order not to scare her away. After minutes of fighting with his wolf, he eventually won.

He then noticed that Kimberly was burning up, he didn't notice that earlier because his wolf was excited about having his mate in his arms. He carefully and hesitantly pulled away from the hug.

"I'm sorry." She timidly apologized feeling embarrassed.

"It's okay. You can cry on me for as long as you want, but first, you need to eat something and take some painkillers so you don't fall sick," he explained taking her hand and entwining their fingers as he led her out of the bathroom.

Kimberly stared at their entwined fingers as Roy led her downstairs probably to the kitchen. Although his hand was manly and strong and by far bigger than hers, it had a warm and comfortable feeling to it.

"What would you like to have for breakfast?" Roy asked.

"Anything," she quietly replied but instantly regretted it as Roy's hand left hers, leaving her feeling cold and alone once again.

"You might need to take a seat," he suggested gesturing for her to sit on one of the stools which she reluctantly did.

Kimberly watched as Roy made coffee, carefully taking in his features. He was tall, unmistakably 6ft 3 in height, and well-built with broad shoulders. She watched as his biceps flexed while he made breakfast giving him a sexy look. Kimberly instantly stopped herself from staring any further as she couldn't understand where her thoughts were going.

"Here. Have this first," he said placing a cup of coffee and some cookies on the breakfast bar before her.

"Thanks."

Roy felt content when Kimberly finished her breakfast and took the painkillers he had given her. When he placed her breakfast before her, he saw the way her eyes lit up at the sight of pancakes but they immediately dropped. She hesitated to eat like she was going against a rule or committing a sin if she ate them. He had to persuade her to eat so she didn't fall sick.

From his observation, he could tell she loved pancakes but maybe it was also a favorite of someone close to her, probably that 'He' in her life. Her eventual compliance to eat proves that she cares about her health.

Kimberly only had breakfast because she was persuaded to. She had no idea how she obeyed Roy without any complaint. There was something about his voice, yes it was attractive and at the same time so compelling but that wasn't all. She still couldn't place her finger on what she felt whenever he spoke to her.

Kimberly watched quietly as he talked on the phone with someone, telling the person that he wasn't going to show up. She guessed he was talking about his workplace would he not go to work? Was he home because of her? It looks like he actually cared about her well-being more than she thought.
