Roy drove his uncle back to his house. When they approached the door, he suddenly stopped and turned around to face Alan.

"I want you to explain everything carefully to her because as it is, she is already mad at the fact that we aren't humans... I want her so badly but I don't want to scare her away. I'm willing to go at her own pace no matter how long it takes." He explained to his uncle who gave his shoulder a light squeeze to assure him that everything would be fine.

Alan could now tell that what was eating Roy up was the fear of rejection, the fear of waiting for so long only to get rejected. Roy had always been apprehensive about finding his mate, it took him quite a while to convince his nephew that he wasn't going to suffer the same fate as Hugh, now that he finally found his mate, that fear has returned. He gave Roy an understanding smile and the latter let out a deep sigh before opening the door.

He held her waist even tighter, pulling her closer to him as their mouths moved in sync. Kimberly let Ian's lips explore her neck as she melted into his touch, his mouth always worked wonders on her skin. She ran her fingers down his abs to enjoy its firmness, he slowly sucked on her sweet spot as she let out breathy moans while having a tight grip on his hair to keep her knees from giving out, earning a low groan from Ian who was already slowly kissing his way down her jawline.

"I love you, Kim. I love you so much." His breath lingered against hers as he whispered those words in that sexy voice that drove Kimberly crazy.

She opened her eyes to gaze into those lovely blue ones but was shocked to see captivating grey ones staring back at her. All along, she was in a heated make-out session with Roy and not Ian

"No, no, no" she mumbled to herself, slowly backing away from him in disbelief.

Everything started to get blurry as she suddenly found herself in her bedroom in Roy's house breathing heavily as bids of sweat formed on her forehead. She frantically looked at her surroundings and realized that she was indeed still at Roy's place and not back home with Ian.

Clutching her knees to her chest, she quietly cried as she remembered crying herself to sleep last night before having this bad dream. No, it wasn't a bad dream. She enjoyed every bit of it, making her cry even more because she felt like she was betraying the love she and Ian shared as her obsession with Roy kept growing stronger by the minute. Sluggishly dragging herself out of bed, feeling like a terrible ex, she made her way to the bathroom to freshen up. She desperately needed to get out of this place or else she would go insane.

After she freshened up, she didn't waste much time looking for what to wear and just reached out for a shirt dress. Not bothering to do anything to her hair, she exited the bedroom as she didn't want to spend any more minutes there and have more crazy imaginations.

On reaching the bottom of the stairs, she contemplated where to go. With the smell of breakfast lingering, she could tell Christine was in the kitchen. She instantly felt guilty for her behavior towards Christine these past days, everything that happened wasn't any fault of hers, she was only trying to help and now she has let her anger ruin the little friendship the older woman had tried creating. Suddenly feeling the urge to apologize, she headed for the kitchen.

"Hey," she quietly greeted the older woman who was baking some cookies.

"Oh, hey Kim. I didn't see you here."

"There's no need to pretend, Christine. I know you smelt my presence," she murmured shifting her weight from one foot to the other. Christine sighed, her sad look replaced the fake cheerful one she had previously put on.

"Kimberly., I want you to know that we kept it away from you for your good... Our kind are being murdered by human hunters for so long now..." Kimberly wanted to tell her that she wasn't upset anymore but she decided not to interrupt Christine.

"Roy could tell you were a good soul with just one look and so could I."

"Is that a werewolf thing?"

"No, it's not." Christine chuckled and Kimberly was glad she could still bring a smile to the older woman's face.

"It's just instincts... We decided to hide our true identities so we don't frighten you even more after what happened to your friends." She could feel her eyes getting teary after Christine's statement but refused to cry.

Crying wasn't going to bring her friends and fiance back, she realized that after countless days of crying. So, she fought back her tears.

"Although... Roy had this grudge against humans after they murdered his younger sister, but he still chose to protect you from the werewolves that killed your friends."

Kimberly couldn't help but feel guilty for her behavior. These people only cared about her safety. Roy proved that when he fought against those werewolves the night she discovered he wasn't human, the night they shared that mind-blowing kiss. Now she understood why he suddenly snapped that night, he was trying not to get too attached to her because she was human.

"I understand how you feel about this. You have every right to feel that way, but I want you to know that we care about you." Christine calmly said placing her hands on Kimberly's small ones.

"On Roy's behalf, I apologize for everything."

"No, please don't do that. I'm sorry for reacting the way I did. I know I shouldn't have. I was just... I had a lot on my mind. I'm sorry."

"You don't have to be, honey. " Christine assured, placing a kiss on Kimberly's forehead.

"Thanks," she said to Christine with a small smile.

At that moment they heard footsteps walking into the kitchen. Christine was already aware of the persons the footsteps belonged to, while Kimberly feared that it was the man who consumed her thoughts to prove her suspicions were right, Roy walked into the kitchen looking as handsome as always in a simple white T-shirt that hugged his biceps perfectly with a pair of jeans. After a week of locking herself in her bedroom, this was the first time she was seeing him again, and God has she missed him!

Kimberly was so mesmerized by the man before her that she didn't notice the other footsteps that made their way into the kitchen. It was only when she heard someone call the name she adored so much, did she got out of her trance.

"Hailey?!" Alan exclaimed his eyes filled with utmost shock.

"You knew my mother?" Kimberly asked with the same shock evident in her voice.
