Aaliyah.

I slipped the shirt on before tucking the shirt into the skirt.

I sighed

I was not made for this life.

I slipped on a pair of vans before brushing the knots out of my hair, throwing on deodorant and perfume quickly.

I looked into the mirror, exhaling quietly.

I can do this.

It's no big deal.

It's just kids my age.

So I went downstairs, immediately seeing Michael.

"Hi beautiful" he smiled to me, taking my hand to guide me down the last few steps

"Hi" I smiled, walking into his hug.

"You have nothing to be worried about" he whispered to me.

"Everyone's going to love you, just go in there and show them who you are."

Soon I was hugging all the guys, getting small "it'll be great" pep talks from each of them before Luke was driving me to school.

"I'm proud of you." He spoke to me, making me glance to him.

"This is a big step out of your comfort zone, and I know you're scared and worried about what's going to happen, but everything is going to be completely okay." He told me.

"And if it isn't, you call me the second you want to come home, and I'll come get you- it'll be no big deal, okay?" He spoke quietly, making me slowly nod.

"I can do this." I told him, seeing him smile.

"That's my girl"

He pulled into the school parking lot, looking to me as I stayed seated, not moving a muscle.

Could I actually do this?

"Aaliyah" he spoke slowly, making me hum.

"Do you want me to walk you inside?" He offered.

That was so lame

But yet I so badly wanted him to walk me inside.

"Just to the office to where I can get my schedule? Just in case?" I asked him slowly, seeing him smile.

"Let's go"

He walked right beside me, up a set of stairs and to the office.

He talked to the lady at the office desk for me, and we watched as she called a few people, trying to get all of the things I needed.

And soon I watched a dude walk up to us, a smile on his face.

Luke.

Oh no.

Now I'm not saying that I was attracted to a high school teenage boy, but I knew what this kid was

He was THAT boy

The football player, the ladies man, the cocky son of a bitch that I wanted Aaliyah to stay as far away from as possible.

But his eyes immediately connected with hers, and my hands immediately bundled into fists.

Calm down.

Calm down.

He's just a student.

"I'm Drew- the president of the student body this year, I'll be walking you around and giving you a tour of the school and all of your classes this morning" he smiled, looking to me for maybe a second, other than that his eyes were glued to her, and I was fighting the urge to grab her by the arm and pull her out of this building and all the way to the hospital.

"Here's a copy of your schedule, our handbook and some other papers you may need" he spoke, handing it to her.

"And if you're good to go- we can start the tour now" he smiled.

"Yeah-" I cut Aaliyah off, grabbing her gently, making her look to me.

"Are you sure you want to go to school? You're not anxious or dreading it, right?" I asked, praying she would give me a reason to take her out of here.

"No- I'm fine" she smiled to me.

"I'll see you at three, have a good day" she smiled, giving my arm a small squeeze before walking away with the kid that I hated.

"I can't do this."
