Marathon

Anticipation in the air

A big crowd waiting for the flare

They never said it would be fair,

I didn't ask to be born in here

A game that never really ends

No time to stop and make amends

No one around you are a friend

'f they tell you that... they just pretend

It's an endless game—a marathon

When it seems to end, it's just begun

All on my own, there is no one

To help me out in this heinous marathon

It's not a game of strength or wit

run even if you are unfit

Each time one falls out of it

Another's born right in this pit

It's the truth and truths are bitter

No one's a loser or a winner

All worthless labels, useless stickers

No one belongs... all're just visitors

It's an endless game—a marathon

When it seems to end, it's just begun

All on my own, there is no one

To help me out in this heinous marathon

A/n: turns out, life is just an endless marathon with no losers or victors but just a brutal fight to get to the mirage which they call success. Were all killing and dying, chasing after what are mere labels and stickers, not realising that we are doing nothing but what we shouldn't be.

Sitting here in my bed, thinking about a great aunt that passed away a few hours ago, I cant help but think that life, now, is nothing but an endless marathon.
