To be or Not to be

16 3 1

Last night, we had a dream
And I pray that you remember
For today, I wish to live it
Today I shall surrender

The air's still around us
Not a single soul in sight,
No leaf dares sway
No birds taking flight

Here I stand, a statue
Feet fixed in the grass
Eyes at the azure sky
Mind farther beyond, lost

There you stand, just behind me
But I can't turn back and look
For I fear; what if you're not
For I fear I'd be mistook

I don't know if you're there
Or just a shadow of my thought
If you're complete and whole
Or a glimpse I may have caught

God, I wish to move a muscle
Just breathe and let it go
I'd fall back in your arms
Or maybe not, I'm don't know

I'm sure the grass will catch me
And I'd become it's whole
But in my heart's an empty place
There'll always be your hole

Here I wait, my little bird
For I think- I'm sure it's you
You're the bird who had migrated
To lands distant and new

I've awaited your return,
And I feel that you're here
I've even left under the mat
The key that I have spare

But I can't narrate you this
For my jaw, my dove, is stone
There's cement in my veins
There's rock in my bones

I stand here, petrified
I can't look back and say
What if you're not there,
If you are, will you stay?

Here; we're in our dream,
And I hope you will remember
For tomorrow I'll look back
Tomorrow I'll surrender
