Alec's POV

I have no idea how long I've been flying. All I know is the sun set hours ago.

Zoey was dead.

Gone.

There was nothing anyone could do to bring her back.

My wings were aching from flying so long so came to a rough landing on the top of some cliff and screamed. Why did life have to be so unfair.

I took a moment to take in my surroundings. This place felt hauntingly familiar. And then it hit me.

Zoey fell off this cliff. The day I saved her. She began trusting me over this cliff. I miss her so much.

I thought seriously about dive bombing off the cliff and not catching myself. Letting myself hit the ground and joining Zoey wherever she was. I even came as close as actually jumping off. But I caught myself on a root of a nearby tree.

Zoey wouldn't want this. She would want me to move on. Keep fighting.

I pushed off the cliff doing a back flip and tucked my wings in falling straight towards the ground and just as I was about to go splat, I opened up my wings full span and shot up rocketing towards the stars and heading right back to where I came from. I was going to kill those monsters.

Zoey's POV

Too exhausted to breathe. Not that I really could breathe. This air was horrid.

It was too dark to see at all. They had locked me in a small tight metal box. There was hardly any air in here. I got light headed and for the 7th time (that I can recall) I blacked out.

"Alec! Give me back my shoes!!" I yelled at him as he shot up into the sky with my shoes in his hands.

"Make me!" He shouted back flying out over the water. I laughed and dove into the water. I got to the bottom right below where he was hovering over and spun shooting up out of the water and grabbing my shoes out of his hands and shooting back down landing on top of the water and started running to shore.

Once they were safely on our blanket all nice and dry I went back in the water and Alec joined me, pouting at the fact that I had won fair and square.

We swam around for hours sharing a few kisses every now and then. When Alec had enough of the water we went back to shore.

The sun was starting to set. The sky looked like something out of a magazine as the suns rays bounced off the water making the sky look purplish. It was beautiful.

"No you're beautiful." Alec said, obviously having had read my mind. We gazed at each other for a moment or two, both of us taking the beauty of it all.

"I love you." I said truly meaning it. His smile was brighter than the sun.

"I love you too."

I leaned in for a kiss. So much passion filled our surroundings. He caressed my face and I ran my fingers through his hair pulling at it lightly. The kiss was full of love. It was gentle at first. Kind and caring. But I wanted more. I wanted to give him everything.

I moved to sit on his lap and he started kissing down my neck. I started slowly taking his shirt off and he stopped me.

"Are you sure about this?" He asked.

"Never been more sure. I love you." He smiled brightly.

"I love you too." And with that he layed back bringing me down with him and rolled us over so he was on top of me. The night was simply bliss.
