Soda walked out of the bathroom, fresh from the shower and saw Red and Goldie sitting on the living room couch watching a program. He and The Gang has noticed the lack of grease in the boys' hair, and Steve pointed out that they may not know how. Soda decided that since he has to grease up his hair anyway that he would teach the boys how.

"Okay, boys, what's with the getup?" Soda asked out of the blue. This made Goldie and Red look at him strangely.

"What do you mean?" Goldie asked, nervously looking down at his typical greaser outfit.

"I mean your hair," Soda chuckled

"I mean your hair," Soda chuckled.

"Oh," Goldie said, looking at Red's hair. "What do you mean?"

"You don't use no grease," he pointed out. "It ain't a problem, Dally don't use no grease, but both of youse hair looks like good grease hair."

"Oh," Goldie said, anxiously looking back and forth at Red and Soda. "Yeah, I have never used grease. Well, Bri put some in my hair for that rumble a while back but I don't know how to do it myself."

"Youse live in the 60's and you don't know how to grease your hair?" Soda chuckled, "you're really something."

"You could teach us!" Red added.

Soda seemed excited to have the opportunity to teach Goldie and Red something. "Sure, kid, come on, let's wash your hair. Grease gets on best when it's damp."

Red and Goldie walked briskly to the bathroom, followed by Soda. He instructed that they throw their heads over the bathtub and he would douse their heads in water. Red was a giggle mess the whole time, but Soda was able to get their heads wet and gave them towels. Their hair was to be damp, not wet.

After towel drying their hair, Soda grabbed his grease.

"This is my favorite grease." Soda showed off an orange tin with the company name Murray's written in black, and the product pomade in red. He took off the top and showed off the lard looking substance inside. He took a little scoop in his hands and said, "you just take a bit in your hands," and started rubbing it between his fingers. Red and Goldie followed his actions, taking a little glob of the thick goop and they could feel it melting between their fingers.

"Now you just work through your hair, like this." Soda started to take his hands and fingers and worked his hands through his hair, combing it through with his fingers. Red and Goldie copied, petting the sides of their heads to evenly disperse the product and they all could see their hair get slicker the more they used their fingers to comb through it.

"Be sure not to get the grease on your scalp, it'll ruin your hair, you dig?" Soda warned.

"Got it," Goldie said.

"Now, this is where I like to have fun," Soda said. He demonstrated that they could either leave it like this, or comb it straight back. "Pony likes to comb it back, but I usually do the looser sleek type."

"How do you do the looser sleek?" Red asked.

"Good question, buddy," Soda said. "You just take the little tuff of hair here and twist." He grabbed what would be his bangs and twisted them, and went back and messed up the greased up hair on the top of his head to make it look more effortless. He then took out his favorite comb and brushed the sides up and around, following the shape of his head and offered the comb to Goldie.

When Goldie finished, he gave the comb to Red. Soda bent down to his level and helped him make the little twist in the front of his hair. When Red finally mastered it, Soda chuckled softly and said, "not bad, squirt."

The three boys admired their hair in the mirrors, and Goldie finally understood why it was so important for them.

Soda was proud of his coaching skills and complimented his sons. "Now you two look like real greasers."
