Jihyo's POV

"I've been meaning to tell you something," I squeaked out after a few minutes of comfortable silence.

Tzuyu put her textbook, notebook, and pen down.

"Yeah? I'm all ears," she gave me a reassuring smile.

I sighed. "Last week . . ."

She reached out and grabbed my hand. "It's ok. You can tell me anything."

I looked into her eyes. Something went off in my mind, and I felt something I had never felt before. But I ignored it.

"Those bruises. I know you know I didn't fall. But . . ." tears started to fall down my face, "It was my parents."

Tzuyu's POV

My heart dropped. I misheard. That's not what she said.

"You p-parents?" I stuttered out.

More tears fell from Jihyo's eyes.

Oh no. She meant it.

"Oh, Jihyo," I said. "I'm so, so sorry."

She shrugged. "There's nothing you can do to make it any better."

I smirked. "I disagree.

She cocked an eyebrow at me, and I put my arms out.

She smiled, returning the hug.

And then we just sat there.

I continued my calc notes, and she pretended like she knew what it all meant, even though I was 2 years a head of her in math.

And doing homework was much better with her there.
