i brought you to my grandparents' house this evening
you said it was nice but i can tell you were pretending
something indicated that you were losing interest in me
sat down on the table we were eating
laughing so loud while we were singing
but i can tell you weren't listening
why weren't you looking at me?
you used to be staring at me
for all the talks we were supposed to be having
the secrets words you said about me
i wish i had been listening
