Ten

"That's Edith's sister? Oh my goodness." I said, gasping.

"Who's Edith?" Ziora asked obviously shaking. It was beginning to feel like this nightmare wasn't going to end.

"A girl I saw this afternoon. She kept referring to a certain them. Then she told me about history repeating itself over and over again." I shuddered.

Ziora stood up from her chair and started pacing the room. "I don't even know what the hell is going on anymore. Everything just feels strange. I don't even know who is who anymore. I'm fucking stressed out and everyone knows I hate stress."

"According to the the report, her death was similar to that of Kay Kay only that Edith's sister didn't die instantly and she was wearing a pink hoodie." Derin said, dropping her tab.

"So it's safe to say we're dealing with a cult right? But what would they have wanted from Kay Kay?" Zikora asked. And she was right, that was one puzzle to be solved.

Why would a cult want to kill Kay Kay? What did she know that she wasn't supposed to know and why was a cult in RVHS?

"Oh my goodness! I'm beginning to get a head ache. You know what, I'll see you guys later." Ziora said, taking her bag and leaving the room. Her sister followed suit.

I huffed and sat down on the bed close to me. "So tell me about this Edith girl." Derin said, breaking the silence.

"Edith is this girl I met today, she's a junior and apparently what happened to us happened to her sister and she said we should find them and stop them once and for all. She also said something about history repeating itself but I didn't understand what she meant till you came in." I said at one go and Derin rubbed her forehead.

"I feel like crying!!! How did we even get here. It's been just a week and my life has gone from 100 to 0 almost immediately." I went towards her and hugged her. She hugged me back and started sniffing my shirt.

"I've always liked how you scent. It's so soothing." Derin said and I blushed, withdrawing from her.

"I guess we just have to be strong, we can't let them break up like that and I also can't let my secret come out." Derin nodded in agreement. I left her side and went to lay on the bed. She began to type on her tab and I took mine to listen to some songs.

I was still in the same position when the bell rang and Derin and I both left the room together. I hurried to my room to change for prep.

I got to my room and immediately changed and then I took my things to the study room. I was among the first people to get there.

I opened my tab and began to read until the thought of William flashed through my brain and I started smiling like an idiot.

"I guess someone's in love." I heard Anita say as she sat down in front of me.

My mood immediately changed and I was no longer smiling. I quickly snapped out of my thoughts and started reading. She got the message and kept quiet after that but I felt her looking at me.

"I'm sorry for what I said about you earlier." Anita whispered.

I stopped what I was doing and looked at her. "You don't have to be sorry. You said your truth, so own it. Don't apologise." I gave her a shallow smile and continued what I was doing.

"I was just angry that's all, I didn't really mean half of the things I said. I'm really sorry." She said again and I shook my head.

"Please read, you're distracting me." I quickly said and continued to read. William didn't even flash through my head again. I read peacefully till the end of the prep.

After prep, I left the study room to my room to prepare for dinner. I got there earlier than others still. Angela and I sat down on our table together and I felt her looking at me.

"What's up? Why you just staring at me like that?" I almost snapped at her. You can't actually blame me though, my life is at stake, well I think it is. My friend was killed about a month ago and we have cultists threatening us. So tell me why I shouldn't be frustrated.

"Sorry, I know these past few days have really been stressful for you but just know you're not alone." She said and I rolled my eyes.

"What could you possibly know?" I said, standing up from my chair and going to dish my food.

After eating, I went back to my room to do my hygiene and sleep. I was still awake for a while, trying to go through some of my notes on my tab.

"Don't always trust everything you read on the school's blog." I heard Angela say and I turned to her. She was looking at me, smiling.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Edith's sister." She simply said. She kept looking at me like she was trying to see my reaction.

I gasped. "How do you know Edith's sister?"

"I know because my sister was in the school then. Edith's sister died just a year before we became students here and she wasn't the only one that died then. They were two girls." If I say I wasn't scared with the revelation, I'll be lying.

"Who was the other girl and how did she die?" I said, making myself comfortable on my bed.

"Let's just say her death is still a mystery till today and nobody knows who she is but be careful though. Kay Kay won't be the only person that'll die this year." She said and laid on her bed like she was ending the conversation.

I bit my lip, looking at her, hoping she'll tell me more. I wanted to know more. No, scratch that, I needed to know more. When she wasn't giving me any attention, I laid on my bed trying to force myself to sleep.

So who's going to be the next to die and why are they doing this? I began to turn on my bed till I was finally able to get myself to sleep.

I woke up to the screams of a girl. They sounded just like Kay Kay's. I quickly wore my slippers and ran outside to see what was going on. A lot of people were gathered outside looking. It was like we were in a trance, no one could move and no one wanted to move.

A girl was on the roof, begging someone that was like a shadow. She kept on saying, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to tell her."

Wait! I know that voice. I looked at the roof real hard and saw Edith on her knees. I gasped and ran towards the room leading to the rooftop. I got there before the figure could push Edith down.

"Stop!" I screamed at the top of my voice. Both Edith and the figure turned to look at me. I could tell she was extremely scared. Well, that's what happens when you see your life flash before your eyes.

"You don't want to do this. So after killing her what's next? You keep killing and killing and then when you're caught, you'll either be killed too or you'll go to jail for life. Now, please get away from her." At this point, I was already close to Edith.

The figure saw me coming close and immediately fled. At that point, I didn't care about finding out who the person was, I just wanted to hug Edith.

I took her in my arms and hugged her. Everyone started clapping and screaming. Cliche right? Yeah, that's what I thought.

"I told you to find those bastards. You're wasting time." Edith said, cleaning her face and removing herself from my embrace.

"I'll find them, I promise." I led her away from the rooftop and the matron immediately took her from me.

"I told you Kay Kay wasn't going to be the last." Angela whispered behind me.

I suddenly felt chills.

Hey guys, I actually wrote this chapter like two weeks ago but I wanted to write the next one before posting. I've still not gotten inspiration oh but I hope you guys enjoy it.
