       A smile took over Changbin's features as he walked out of the cake store, a white cake box in hand. His fingertips felt numb in the cold September air but that was the least of his worries right now, Changbin felt his heartbeat speed up at the thought of a certain freckled boy (or angel, as Changbin liked to think), his face would probably light up at the sight of the cake. He'd have to thank Chan later, as it was him that told Changbin about Felix's birthday.

Upon arriving at the school, he saw many students wearing scarves and coats to fight against the cold weather. With the cake in hand, he walked to his locker, careful not to ruin the precious pastry. After putting the cake in his locker, the bell started ringing, indicating that it was time for roll call. Feeling satisfied, Changbin walked to his roll call class, paying no attention to the corners of his lips slowly turning upwards.

Felix walked out of his science class, letting out a sigh of relief while doing so, "I swear, if he went on about cells any longer—"

"Felix, you didn't get half the notes did you?" Seungmin asked, swiftly cutting his friend off from whatever rant he was about to start.

"Uh, that's not important, because if I didn't I'd ask you for the notes!" Felix beamed, giving his friend a pat on the back.

"So you didn't" Seungmin sighed to himself, "you know" he continued in a louder voice, "you can't keep relying on me like this, especially since we won't have science together next year."

"Yeah, yeah, I'll think about it. Happy?" Felix quickly reassured his friend, "now let's go find Jisung and Jeonginie!" He ushered his friend to walked quicker, eager the let go of the previous topic.

       The four friends met up, and unbeknownst to the freckled boy, Jisung, Seungmin and Jeongin had planned something special for their friend's birthday. As soon as they sat down, Jisung, Jeongin and (rather reluctantly) Seungmin gave each other silent signals, oblivious to Felix who was too busy digging into his fairy bread.

"Ahem.." Jisung coughed to catch Felix's attention, "Felix..."

"Yes..?" The blonde boy answered with uncertainty evident in his tone.

Jisung softly kicks both Seungmin and Jeongin's feet under the table, signalling them to execute their plan, hopefully with success. The three inhale (in sync because they probably all share one brain cell), "happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Felix, happy birthday to you!" They all sung rather loudly, as usual, gaining a few glances from other students; besides Seungmin and sometimes Jeongin, they didn't really notice any weird looks given to them.

"Aghhh" Felix groaned with frustration, face flat on the table "I have succumbed to the same method of celebration as Jisung" he said dramatically.

Seungmin just rolled his eyes in response while Jisung and Jeongin finished off with birthday punches, then proceeded to give Felix a not-so-light birthday punch. Of course Seungmin wouldn't pass up a free opportunity to punch his friend.

"Ow, Seungmin, why'd you have to punch so hard." Felix whined, playfulness wavering in this tone.

"That's just how he expresses his love for you." Jeongin laughs, patting the birthday boy on the back.

"Yeah, I had to go through the same thing yesterday." Jisung complains over-dramatically, putting one hand to his heart and one hand on Felix's shoulder.

"Okay." Felix laughs, taking his friend's hand off his shoulder.

       Oblivious to the four friends who were busy celebrating; standing by the cafeteria entrance was a short, dark-haired boy, mentally debating whether he should give the birthday boy the cake or not. Changbin looked over at the freckled boy again, who happened to be stuffing his face with fairy bread; colourful bits of sugar stuck onto his face, leaving Changbin red-faced as he tried to calm his little heart down.
