"I dwell in possibility."

Asher

"Abby?" Asher's voice whispered.

"Do you really promise not to leave me?" she croaked out.

"Not for a second," he laughed, pulling her into his arms. Upon realization, he released her and scratched his head nervously, "you heard me?"

"Every single word. You helped me remember."

His face turned pink, "everything?"

"Well not everything," she said, dragging the last word and sitting up, "but enough and a lot."

"Are you sure?"

"As of right now, yeah, I'm good."

"Abby?!" an excited voice exclaimed. Bianca rushed to her sister's side, "Omigosh, Abby, we were so worried. Don't ever do that again."

"No problem, Bianca, I'll try not to faint when my head feels like it's about to explode." Abby scooched over and patted the space beside her, "come sit with me. And I forgive you by the way for that risky plan."

"Did it work though?" Bianca asked with a slight grin on her face.

"Yeah..." she replied facing Asher, "I remember."

A silence filled the room as they all savored the moment. "Where's Lyn? I would have thought she would be here."

"Well, I guess you don't remember everything if you want that sneaky wench to be here," Bianca scoffed.

Abby laughed, "Why wouldn't I want her here? Sure, she didn't support the relationship at the start but she eased up. I think that's what most important; what happened at the end of the day."

"Yeah, but do you remember the end of the day?"

"What does that mean?"

"Don't worry about it, Abs," Asher interrupted, "when you're feeling perfect we'll tell you everything."

"Geez, how long was I out that so much has happened," Abby retorted sarcastically. "I would appreciate you not joining the secret-keeping club."

"That's not what I'm doing Abby, I promise but I don't think this is a conversation that we need to have right this moment. I'm sure she'll come and visit you soon."

"I'll go get a nurse," Bianca said quietly and excused herself.

"So... you just left after the accident?" Abby asked a few seconds later.

"Well, yes but not because I wanted to," he replied, pulling at his hair. "You're dad threatened to kill me."

Abby laughed in reply, "my dad wouldn't hurt a fly. Sure, he can be dramatic but kill you?"

Asher shrugged, "he was pretty pissed and he blamed me. I blame myself as well..."

"Why would it have been your fault? I know we had an argument but arguments are two sided."

"I promise you we'll talk about it but not when your dad could walk in and overhear us."

"That's two promises you've made, Asher, I hope you intend to keep them."

Asher took her hand and squeezed it in assurance, "yes, I do."

"Okay, out everybody. We need to do some routine checks to make sure she's okay," a nurse said as she entered the room with Bianca close behind her. She gestured for Asher to follow her out.
