Can asks me with great excitement. He extends his hand out for me to take and then waits for me to accept his offer. We are ready to walk out the door of Can's penthouse and leave New York behind to fly to the Galapagos. As excited as I am to be going to the Galapagos, I am sad for our time in New York to end. It has been like a beautiful dream.

Can is so excited that his eyes are sparkling. As I take in the joy I see so clearly in his eyes, I find myself hesitating to reach for his hand. Suddenly I see a look of panic flash across his face.
