Stay

Chapter Sixteen...

(hi guys i'm back:))
I look around the room and see blank expressions on everyone's faces "Chris, what are you talking about?" Marlene asks "I don't know. I love Will more than anything I really do, but am I seriously ready for marriage?" she asks not moving her head from her hands. "Aww Chris, I'm so sorry about all of this." Shauna says "I felt the same way before Zeke and I got married. But once you do it, it'll be like you never had this feeling" she finishes. Christina picks her head up and looks around at all of our confused but understanding faces. "You're right I don't know what I was thinking" She finally says. "Okay good because you're both so good for each other. I love you guys all so much but I really have to get to work" I say as I give everyone a big hug. I pick up my things, blow a kiss to my favorite women and walk out the door. As I take the 10 or so steps to my apartment I think about what Chris said about being ready for marriage. I love Tobias and I do wanna marry him but now is way too fast. I unlock my apartment door and walk in setting my stuff down to be picked up later. I rush to my room and start to get ready for work. I throw on a pair of light washed black jeans and a black halter neck top. I recurl my hair and put it in a half up half down bun with some pieces to frame my face. I fix my makeup a little and put on some black booties. I put on some jewelry and walk over to my closet to look for a black cardigan. As I look around for a sweater my phone starts to ring indicating I'm getting a call. I walk out to my kitchen island and pick up the phone Tobias' name shows up on the screen and I answer it.
Tris: "Hey baby, What's up"
Tobias: "I was wondering if you'd wanna come over for dinner again tonight"
Tris: "Ya of course What are you making"
Tobias: "I'm sure yet I'll think of something. Also pack a bag I would like you to stay again tonight"
Tris: "Okay well I have to get my stuff i'm gonna be late for work"
Tobias: "Bye cutie Ill see you later"
I smile and hang up the phone. I walk back into my room and grab a long black cardigan and put it on I head back out to my kitchen/ living room area. I grab a water bottle and stand at my island scrolling through instagram. I look at the clock realizing it's almost 4:30 and i decide to head to work so I can grab coffee before my shift. I grab my purse, my phone and my keys and head out the door

I park in the employee parking lot behind the building grab my things and go inside. As Im walking through the back to set my stuff down Im met with the little bitch I hate so much, Nita. I give her a small sarcastic smile and walk into the break room. I put my name tag on, put my mic on, throw my phone in my pocket and walk out onto the floor "Tris!!" I quickly turn around and smile. Alisha is working tonight and I'm so glad I get to work with someone who hates Nita as much as I do. "Omg it's been awhile I've missed you" I tell her as we walk over to the registers. I haven't shared a shift with Alisha in what feels like forever it's nice to see her again. "So how are you? You look incredible." She asks. "I've been super good, I'm in a relationship and I've actually started looking for jobs that's not Victoria Secret" I tell her with a huge smile on my face. "That's amazing I'm so happy for you speaking of new jobs I was offered a job at First American Bank yesterday and I took it so this is my last week here" Alisha explains. My eyes widen and I give her a big hug. "Alisha congratulations! That's amazing. I'm gonna miss working with you" I say giving her another hug. "I know I can't believe it I applied a long time ago and now Im finally gonna be working there" She tells me. "Alisha you're gonna do amazing and I'm happy you're finally getting out of here you deserve better than this place" I tell her and she gives me a big hug. She tells me she has to get back out onto the floor and we'll talk later.

It's about 6:30 and my shift ends in a half hour. All I can't think about it dinner at my boyfriends and what jobs I should start applying for. I don't wanna work here the rest of my life obviously. Tobias wants me to quit my job and move in with him but I think I'd go crazy if I just stayed home all the time. I'm 23 I shouldn't waste my life away in his extremely nice penthouse. I fold up a couple pairs of underwear and hang up some shirts. I go around asking if anyone needs anything and they all decline. Business is kinda slow today and there's very few people in here at a time. Vanessa the manager comes over and tells me, Alisha and Nita we can all go home due to the little costumers at the store. Nita tells Vanessa she'll stay and help out some more I roll my eyes and look at Alisha, she gives me a nasty look and I hold back a laugh. I thank Vanessa and head back out to the break room to get all my stuff. Alisha and I head out to our cars just laughing and talking about random stuff. I tell her goodnight and I'll see her later.  I get in my car and drive back to my apartment.

I grab a duffle bag and fill it with stuff to spend the night at Tobias'. A toothbrush, toothpaste, clothes for tomorrow, my glasses, makeup remover and makeup for tomorrow. As I walk back out to the main area of my apartment I pick up my charger and my purse and walk out the door. I stop by Chris' place and let her know Ill be gone for the night. Her whole apartment is full of boxes and it looks so empty. Her and Will closed on their new house over the weekend and they'll be moving in after the wedding. I walk out to my car and drive over to see my boyfriend.

I walk through the lobby and over to the elevator. I push the button for the top floor and wait for the ding. The doors open and I walk into the massive living room I put my stuff on the huge "L" shaped couch and walk into the kitchen. I'm hit with the most wonderful sight. Tobias in his nice work pants and tight button up dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up a little and he's frantically moving around the kitchen trying to make spaghetti. I walk around to the other side of the island and wrap my small arms around my muscular boyfriend. He quickly turns around and gives me the most perfect smile with his gorgeous straight white teeth. We share a kiss and he picks my up and sets my on the island so now we're eye to eye. "Hey baby" he says turning back around to drain the noodles. "Hi handsome" I say getting down off the counter. "How was work?" I ask. "About the same. I had some extremely boring meetings about the new design logo, and my personal favorite, lunch with a possible investor" He tells me moving the now drained noodles back into the pot. Tobias picks up the spoon and stirs the sauce. "It smells amazing in here babe" I compliment. "Thank you. How about you how was work?" He asks "It was slow today and I got let out early. I've been thinking, how would you feel if I quit my job and got something more stable" I say sitting down at the bar. "Or... you can I don't know, move in with me and never have to work again?" Tobias suggests. He turns the heat off on the sauce and turns around to face me again. "Tobias. Honey. We've been over this, I can't not work. I'd lose my mind just sitting around in this place. I can't do it. I need a job." I tell him. He sighs and gives me a look of defeat. He picks up the plates and starts to serve the spaghetti. He puts the plates down and turns to the bottle of expensive wine sitting out by the window. He pours the drink and I take a sip. "Wow this is good." I exclaim. He laughs a little and takes a bite of the food. We both start eating and talking about different jobs I could apply for. I have a degree in finance and a business Tobias works with has a opening for a financial manager. "That would be great do you have their information." I tell him. He nods his head yes as he finishes chewing the last bit of spaghetti on his plate. "I'll get you his business card later" Tobias tells me. He stands up and takes both of our plates to the sink he rinses them off and puts them in the dishwasher. "Babe, you cooked let me clean up" I tell him as I walk over to the sink. He tells me no and pours me some more wine and tells me to go sit in the living room. I roll my eyes and walk around his massive penthouse.

About five mins later Tobias finds me in the office and he tells me to come out to the living room. I walk back out and see a movie on the tv. I put my glass down and cuddle up with my boyfriend.

It's about 10:30 now and we're both getting tired. We go upstairs to his bedroom and I get undressed put on an old volleyball shirt from high school and a pair of track shorts. I take my hair down and put it in a low braid.  I take my makeup off and wash my face as well as brush my teeth. As I take my contacts out Tobias walks into the bathroom in a pair of sweatpants. He wraps his extremely muscular arms around my tiny waist and puts his head on my shoulder I put my glasses on and turn around so I face Tobias. He kisses my lips and my cheek and my jawline and picks me up. He walks into his bedroom and sets me on the bed. He turns the tv on and we watch an episode of Criminal Minds just cuddling and laying in each other's arms. I look over at the clock and it reads 11:38. I look at my now sleeping boyfriend and I turn the tv off. I take my glasses off and kiss him on the cheek. "Goodnight baby" he says in a sleepy voice. "Goodnight" I respond quietly.
