chapter 10: in the city

Juvia Pov

I wake up to the sound of Gray and Natsu screaming. My eyes feel heavy and a struggle to make it to the door. I sigh and open the door and am met with three sights. One Natsu and Gray running through the room screaming. Two Erza stepping out of her room with a grace that should be illegal for this hour. Finally, Lucy growling at the two boys who woke her up.

My eyes instantly met Lucy's deadly glare and I chuckled. I took my place a step behind Lucy finally getting the sleep out of my eyes in time to see Erza slapping both of the boys. I hear Lucy laugh and I look towards her confused.

" I need that shirt" she breaths out pointing towards Erza. I see what Erza is wearing and silently agree. She was wearing a pink crop top that said:" Those who wake me up shall see my hidden side" with an animated bear cub on one side and on the other was a growling mama bear. She was also wearing a matching pink pajama bottom with a cake pattern.

The clock read 7 and I sighed. This time isn't that bad.

" Can you two not see that I was sleeping" Lucy growled out and both boys instantly paled and apologized. I let out a laugh as both boys take a step back and head to the kitchen to make breakfast. I was finishing the scrambled eggs when I sense someone watching me. I looked up to be met with dark blue eyes watching me. I blush when my eyes meet Grays and he looks away. I raise my eyebrow and motion him to come closer. He hesitantly steps forward and I instantly put two plates in his hand. Gray looks at my confused until I smirk.

" If you are just going to stand there I am going to put you to work," I say waving the knife I was using to cut the ham. My smirk grows as he rolls his eyes and goes to put the plates on the table. I pull up the remaining three plates and set them on the table wear Natsu was already eating. We make normally small talk with Gray and Erza asking about the city while eating.

" Remember that you should be back before midnight, you can do anything until then" Erza said leaving the room. In an instant, Natsu was dragging a giggling Lucy towards the door. I let my inner shipper out as I quietly squeal. I hear chuckling and pout at a smirking Gray

" My lady," He said holding out his hand towards me and motioning his head to an empty door. I blush 50 shades of red as I take his hand and he leads us towards the city.

We spent the whole day with Gray and me looking around the city. Even though I have been here for a week everything seemed clearer.

I was excitedly showing Gray my favorite places in the city while he just stood back laughing at my expressions. This was just like the months before the war. Gray was taking me out. There wasn't a city in Fiore that Gray didn't take me to.

As the end of the day passed the sunset covering the sky in a pink hue. Gray was walking a bit behind me and just before we reached the door to the inn he stopped. I turned to ask what was wrong when I felt his lips against my cheek. I turned red as Gray chuckled and got ahead of me and left me a blushing mess in front of the inn.

As I step into the room I am tackled by a bright red Lucy. We look at each other and then blush a brighter red. We sit on the couch in silence until Erza steps through the room and looks at us. She lets out a snort and laughs as she walks towards her room saying something like " When I said to do anything I didn't mean that".

" Erza!" I hear Lucy exclaim, but I can't exactly hear her clearly.

I have a full-on nosebleed now Erza thank you. I glance towards Lucy who was turning a new shade of red and Looking away.

" Well..." I state and Lucy looks at me.

" Yeah well" She states with a forced nod and I hold back my laughter.

Silence envelopes us once again until I hear Lucy squeak.

" Natsu nearly kissed me" she states with a raging blush.

One...Two...Three...

" No, Freacken way" I squeal and signal Lucy to tell me more. She blushes and then begins to talk.

She begins to explain how Natsu took her through Crocus and how they ended up at a cafe. At first, they were casually talking until the sun started to set. Then as she was about to stand up Natsu stopped her. He looked at her with a calm expression and was leaning a bit closer to her until the waitress interrupted saying it was closing time...

I have somebody new on my murder list...

" How. Dare She" I growl and Lucy nods.

" Right she could have waited like 2 minutes" Lucy exclaimed with a pout and then signals me to tell her my story.

I tell her about the city and squealed a bit about Gray. She squealed at all the right parts and nodded when I was serious. My personal favorite was when I told her about the kiss. She got starry-eyed hugged me. We spent the rest of the day until midnight talking about our next course of action. Both romantically and future wise.
