Hazel stood nervously infront of the Great Hall with all of the other first years.  Lots of them were talking to each other, but Hazel didn't have any first year friends, but she was determined to make some.  She saw one girl who looked to be a little more lost that some of the others.

"Hi, my name's Hazel Halls, who are you?"  asked Hazel to the girl with long brown curly hair.

"Ember, Ember Fang.  Nice to meet you.  Are you nervous?  Everyone seems to be."  commented Ember.  Hazel just shrugged.  Their meeting was cut short as a older witch in emerld robes stood infront of them with a large parchment of paper in her hands.

"Children, children!  Pay attention please.  I am Professor McGonangal, I teach Transfiguration here and I am the Assistant Headmaster as well as head of Gryffindor House.   We will begin the Sorting Ceremony shortly.  What will happen is that I will place the Sorting Hat upon your head and you will then be sorted into and sit with your designated house.  Any questions?"  she asked.  No one said a word.  She nodded.

"Good, follow me."  she said as the door swung open to the Great Hall.  Hazel looked around with wide eyes.  She saw the bewitched celing that she had read about in Hogwarts: A History when she had been at home.  It was much cooler in person.  She then let her gaze wander around the room as they walked towards the front.  There where a lot of students.  There were four long tables and she could see the banners above each table for each house.  Her eyes then moved over to the Gryffindor table to see Jimin giving her a pair of thumbs up as they made it to the front of the hall.  Everyone's eyes were on the group of first years.    Hazel was too busy looking around the hall until she heard a familiar name announced.

"Ember Fang."  announced Prof. McGonagal.   Hazel watched as the girl walked up to the chair and the old hat was placed on her head.  Everything was quiet for a moment.

"Gryffindor!"   the hat cried out.  The Gryffindor table cheered and clapped as Ember had the hat taken off of her head and she happily walked over to the Gryffindor table.  Now Hazel was really getting anxious.  Another person in Gryffindor that she had met.

"Hazel May Halls!"  Prof. McGonagal said snapping Hazel out of her thoughts.  She walked nervously up the stairs to the stool and sat down.

"Hmm yes, Matthew Halls's daughter....hmmm you have lots of potential, but where will you best shine with your skills...I think, RAVENCLAW!"  announced the Sorting Hat to the Hall.  It felt like a weight had just dropped from Hazel's shoulders as she heard the cheers and clapping for her as she walked down the stair.  She wasn't in Gryffindor, but she also wasn't in Slytherin...Ravenclaw was a good house.  She had thought she had potential to go there.  Her father had mentioned that she would fit in there well. She guessed he was right.

Hazel went and sat down at the table and recieved a chous of "hellos", "Welcome to Ravenclaw" and smiles.  She talked shortly to the people next to her.  One boy who was next to her smiled at her with cute dimples.  He was a few years older than her.

"Hi, I'm Kim Namjoon, 3rd year.  Welcome to Ravenclaw."  he introduced.

"Thank you, I'm Hazel May Halls, but I just go by Hazel.  Nice to meet you Namjoon."  she smiled back at him.  They both got distracted by the sorting as it continued.  Hazel's eyes got drawn to the one Korean boy with jet black hair with doe eyes.   He looked pretty innocent and looked around a lot.

"Jungkook Jeon."  Announced McGonagal.  Hazel watched as the boy walked up.  The hat was only on for a moment before the hat made its decision that slightly shocked Hazel.

    "Slytherin!"
