Y/n POV

I was in the bottom of my boat, checking for any damage from the battle.

Some larger cracks here and there which i patched up easily, but other than that nothing.

Once I was down with checking for damage I started checking my supplies.

I would obviously stock up here before I left, if I left, but I needed to know what I had.

Y/n: let's see. Plenty of spare bullets, plenty of spare cannon balls.

I then went to my food stock.

I looked through it all, seeing I had quite a lot.

Y/n: yep, that's enough food

I also had plenty of repairing supplies.

Y/n: and that's everything

I then walked to the top of my ship.

I walked to the bow, looking out at the ocean.

???: um, hello?

I turned around, seeing a female commander. She was the same one that was on the boat I sunk multiple times.

Y/n: amazing view isn't it?

She nodded, sticking her hand out to me, nervously, as if she was scared.

Female: I'm commander June

I turned around, shaking her hand.

Y/n: Y/n L/n

It was quiet for a second.

June: so um, I guess you may want you fleet back

Y/n: I'm sorry?

June: you're returning, right? I'm assuming you'll want to command you fleet-

Y/n: actually, no. It's not that I don't want to command them, but i don't want to be a commander. After being a pirate for 2 weeks, I don't want to be on the side lines of fights anymore

June: so, um...

She went silent again.

Y/n: nervous?

She nodded.

Y/n: how long have you been here?

June: about a week and a half. It's still so strange, being around so many amazing people and ships

Y/n: now who are you referring to as people?

June: what do you mean?

Y/n: I mean who do you call a person? What do you call a ship? You call Enterprise a weapon and she'll accept that, because she thinks of herself as one. But ship girls are as much of a human as us

June let out a small laugh.

June: I guess so, yeah

Y/n: another thing, don't worry about it. You'll get use to it. I was like you when I first joined

June: when did you join?

Y/n: I came to Azur lane 3 years ago, when I was 17

She smiled and laughed.

June: well if you aren't going to command your ships, can you give me advice?

Y/n: like what?

June: how do I get them to trust or respect me? It just feels like-

Y/n: they don't? You can't force them to trust or respect you. All you need to do is give it to them and it will come with time

Enterprise: commander and commander!

I looked to the docks, seeing Enterprise.

Enterprise: Admiral Mathew needs you both!

Time skip

I shifted, uncomfortable with the situation.

My entire old fleet, myself, June and Mathew were in the same room, all eyes on me.

Mathew: Commander Y/-

Y/n: I am no king a commander Mathew, please don't refer to me as one

He nodded, clearing this throat.

Mathew: Y/n. I would like to ask why you didn't come back straight away

I stayed silent for a second.

Y/n: I couldn't. I mean, I could've, but wouldn't it be strange, someone presumed dead just showed up all of a sudden on a pirate ship

Belfast: But you did exactly that, Master

I sighed.

Y/n: first, don't call me master, Belfast. I'm no longer your commander and I have asked you before to just call me Y/n

Mathew: so why decide to save Enterprise?

Y/n: because I saw what had happened with her bow snapping, and I know she pushes herself to hard

I looked at her.

Y/n: seriously, stop pushing yourself to you limits. Cause if you do, next time no one may not be fast enough

She looked down.

Enterprise: sorry

I looked back at Mathew.

Y/n: and because I still care about her

Mathew: but as you said, you're no longer their commander

Y/n: does that mean I have to start hating them? God, that hurts to hear

I spoke with a smile and sarcasm laced on my tongue.

This caused Mathew to also smile.

Mathew: you haven't changed. And yes, of course can still care about them. So what will you do now?

The girls looked at me, with sad frowns on there faces. Well, not Laffey and June. Laffey was asleep on my shoulder and June still didn't know me, not giving much of an expression.

But it was hard not to feel bad for them.

Y/n: well, I don't know

Mathew; why don't you keep working for Azur lane?

Y/n: Mathew, I said I don't want-

Mathew: did I say you had to be a commander? You've got the power of a ship and the mind of a strategist. I don't see why you can't fight in the front lines

I smirked, laughing quietly.

Y/n: you know what? Why the hell not

I saw the girls faces brighten up and June and Mathew smiled.

Mathew: well Caption Y/n, once again, welcome to Azur lane!

That's that. Hope you enjoyed, have a good morning evening or afternoon
