Chapter 57

Katniss' POV
I woke up and I'm pressed up against Peeta. I pulled up the sheets and our naked bodies are exposed, an idiotic grin crosses my face as I slowly lower the sheets back down. Peeta looks at me and I realized he saw my last move.

"Oh what a silly girl!" He said in his morning voice, deep and actually quite sexy.

"I was-" I began and he cuts me off, "Oh I know you're still not over my body."

"Well.." My cheeks turn bright red and I look down at the end of the room, "There's that, and I thought last night was just some dream."

"Goodness Katniss, you don't need to be embarrassed." Peeta smiled, his hand pulling back my hair. I nuzzle my neck into his neck and he rubs my back.

"Sing for me Katniss." Peeta mumbles.
And I begin the only song I can remember:

I take a deep breathe and he encourages me to continue.

so we'd both be free.

Strange things did happen here.

If we met a midnight in the hanging tree."

I look at him and he smiles.

"That was so beautiful, beautiful." Peeta kisses my cheek and I blush harder.

I never believed I could sing til I met Peeta.

"I love you Mellark." I state.

"I love you Everdeen, soon to be Mellark." He finishes, before we get up from our comfy spots to start the day.
