Sammy stood in her place just looking at ricky. What was she supposed to say? It was just them in the room and he held an expression that showed so much emotion.
"ricky i really have to g-" he walked up to her to cut her off
"please." he begged, "just let me explain."
Sammy sighed and walked over to a box dropping her bag and sitting down while ricky stood in front of her.
"i didn't mean to yell at you, i was just frustrated that you haven't talked to me and i think i did something wrong but no one will tell me. so please what is on your mind?"

"i just had a lot going on-" ricky opened his mouth but sammy continued "and i know you want to know so here's the thing, i think my mom actually likes this dude she's going out with and i have to keep babysitting river, thanksgiving is coming up and i know it's going to be different for both of us but i think i'm spending it with a new family that i don't want yet."
"you could have told me this sammy."
"i know."
"can i walk with you out?" he grabbed his bag and guitar
"sure." she smiled at him as they both walked out and down the hall to the exit
Sammy was looking at the white ceiling just letting her thoughts jumble together before she spilled them out. She looked over at her redhead best friend who was playing a video game angrily.
"sammy just tell me when you're ready, therapist red will be over there in a heartbeat," he said and didn't look away from the screen
"i'm ready." she sat up and curled against a blanket and red moved so he was in front of her
"okay, i'm here. full attention."
"today i pretty much lied to ricky." she played with her fingers
"about?" he leaned forward with his eyebrows going up
"i told him i was busy with stuff at home and things about thanksgiving."
"why's that?" sammy took in a breath
"i think- i think i'm in love with ricky." she looked in his eyes
"oh my gosh! This is amazing!" he clapped his hands
"why? it's completely embarrassing! he will never love me back! have you seen the way he looks at nini! we've been friends for half of our lives red this will never change!" she covered her face with her blanket
"hey- hey." he removed the blanket to see her sad face "it will be ok. and if he doesn't see how much you're in love with him then he's not worth it ok?" she nodded
