"What's that?" Aytsa tilted his head at Rayne. He'd gone to visit the man in hopes of learning a little more, but Rayne seemed transfixed on something that Aytsa was deeply confused by. It was a large black box which lit up in the centre and mumblings came from it. It showed people, humans probably.

"A television," Rayne responded, his voice droning as he wasn't really paying attention to Aytsa.

"What's one of those?" Aytsa asked. Rayne sighed and picked up a small black stick with buttons on it, pressing one of them and freezing the television. Aytsa blinked in surprise at the magic that happened before them.

"It's a human device. Important humans make shows or report on things going on and less important humans who need to know this information watch it," he explained. "I say less important humans... sometimes important humans watch television as well." Aytsa was staring at the TV in a confused manner. "It works by receiving radio waves which broadcast whatever's on at that time." Aytsa slowly nodded his head.

"How does it work here, then?" he asked.

"Just luck I guess. I hooked it up to a contraption that generates electricity over there and placed a dish through one of the air vents," he hummed, pointing to the long wire that went through the air vent and up to the dish outside.

    "Right..." Aytsa trailed off. "Why?"

    "Why what?"

"Why'd you do all... that?" Aytsa questioned. Rayne let out a small laugh and shrugged. Crossing his arms over his chest, Aytsa gave Rayne a glare that suggested such a lacking response was not going to satiate his curiosities. Rayne rolled his eyes.

"Well knowing what's going on in the human world can be quite entertaining. The hunters probably know stuff like this already so don't think I'm withholding information, by the way," he hummed. He then pointed to the TV. "You see that weird spiky ball they're talking about?" he asked. Aytsa nodded his head. "Well, that's a virus. Remember what I told you about those?" he questioned. Aytsa nodded again.

"Why are they talking about a virus? I thought those were everywhere?" he mumbled. Rayne nodded.

"Indeed they are, but this is a new untreatable virus that's spread across the world, infected many, many people and for some reason given them a crisis regarding pasta and toilet roll," he said, increasingly sounding more unsure of himself as he spoke.

"Well, um, that's nice," Aytsa sighed, shaking his head. "Also what's the point of that?" he added, pointing over to the coughing middle-aged woman in his notorious holding cell. Aytsa grinned nervously.

"Well, I went on a little walk to the nearby hospital and—"

"You know what? It's good, I don't need to know," Aytsa shook his head. Rayne smiled at this before raising an eyebrow. "What?"

"You've not brought up [Y/n] yet. That's why you came to me, isn't it?" he asked. Aytsa shrugged.

"Doesn't matter. I'm going," he sighed, turning around and heading over to the door.

"Wait!" Rayne hissed quickly, a little panicked. "Don't see [Y/n] without having washed your hands and had a shower and stuff— this is highly contagious for humans and Olli will kill me if she gets sick," Rayne sighed. Aytsa rolled his eyes. "I'm not kidding! It can kill!"

"Then stop breeding it in your fucking torture chamber," Aytsa groaned. Rayne shrugged and laughed before waving Aytsa off, staring back at the TV.

Hi y'all! Evie here. Came to say some stuff regarding the rude little spiky ball that's interrupting society right now.

So a lot - if not all - of you by now will know of people who've had it, personally know people who've had it, or have had it yourselves. Sadly I've had the virus (it was not fun) but I'm all good now so there's no need for worry! I didn't need to go to hospital or be ventilated, it was just like a very nasty flu, so everything's A-OK. Mr. Corona, however, has kinda fucked up quite a bit of my life so I'm gonna briefly explain that.

You know those GCSE's I've been mentioning for ages as the bane of my existence and my main source of stress? Like, the reason I went on hiatus in the first place? Whelp, they were cancelled. So, no GCSEs and I've finished school, essentially. (To clarify I don't mean I've finished university, I'm 15 haha, I mean I've finished ordinary school and will be going into sixth-form in September.)

So, no school for me for what, five months? Something like that. Anyway, that's a long break, and you can expect me to slowly reintroduce myself to writing over this period of time.

    Right now writing honestly feels like agony because I've given myself RSI from over-playing the piano - my practice time jumped to 4/5 hours a day in my stress and boredom and now I'm limited to typing with one hand oops. However, when I'm all healed and writing a single spoof explanatory chapter doesn't take me days on end, then I will yeet the writers block into the 4th dimension and defy the odds! Hopefully ^^;

I hope y'all are okay. Please stay safe, wash your hands, do virtual hugs and all that! Y'know, the normal stuff <3

If your schools are shut then I'd absolutely recommend trying to write something yourself! It's very therapeutic and can be extremely rewarding.

A massive thank you to everyone who's kept with me for this long. I love you all! Thank you for your patience ♥︎♥︎

After a few more hours of learning as much as he could about COVID-19, Rayne turned off the television and glanced over to the woman in the cell. She was asking for water. Human necessity, he supposed, so he tossed a bottle of water over to her. She groaned in pain as it hit her in the face and Rayne couldn't help but release an amused chuckle, ignoring the curses she sent his way.

He went to the first door and unlocked it, before leaving his "office", locking said door behind him and walking up the staircase that led to his second door. He did the same with this one (though switched key), before immediately wandering over to his room.

Sitting on the edge of his bed, he couldn't help but feel a little... strange. He threw his head back and a series of coughs left him, along with a slight tightness in his chest.

    "Well shit."

lolol don't worry this ain't canon 😂
