The Hustle Part 6- Thomas Westerberg

You and Penny have now been staying at Josephine's house for two weeks, since you had no money for a hotel or a plane ticket. You walked over to Josephine who was currently sunbathing on a lawn chair and decided to stand in her light to get her attention. She lifted her sunglasses and gave you a clear look of disdain. "Thanks for letting me and Penny stay the extra two weeks." You said earnestly. Josephine pushed her sunglasses back down and then laid back on her lawn chair before saying "One more than agreed upon." " Yeah, it was cozy, wasn't it?" Penny asked, walking over next to you.

"What will your next chapter be?" Josephine asked, standing up to talk to you now. "I was thinking of going to Thailand." You responded. "Maybe Bangkok. Or Phuket." Penny added. Josephine reached into a bag and handed you and Penny each a wad of cash. "What's this?" Penny asked. "It's your cut of the "Lord of the Rings" con." Josephine responded. "Minus expenses, of course. Wardrobe, catering, prosthetics and the cost of the vases that you broke." Josephine continued.

Then you heard someone with a Southern accent yell out "Yello! Make a hole, people. Make a hole!" Then you see Thomas walking towards you with a tan and a fedora with an older woman next to him. You give him a glare and he just smiles at you. "So I was showing Cathy here some luxury property in Capri, when I realized that this lady's got some high-class taste. Cathy's an animal lover, see, she likes special furry friends who are, a little illegal." Thomas said still with his Southern accent.

"So I told Cathy that she had to meet my friends. We hopped in the dinghy, we set sail, and here we are!" Thomas said. You locked eyes with Thomas before he looked at Penny. "Cathy, this is South Africa's best endangered species dealer, Imka Bekker." Thomas said pointing to Penny. Penny glared at Thomas before saying "How are you Cathy? It's a pleasure to meet a fellow wildlife enthusiast." with a South African accent. "And this lovely lady next to her is her right-hand woman, Grace Annalise." Thomas said, turning Cathy towards you. "And of course I can't forget about Imka's left-hand woman, Sheila Malarkey." Thomas said looking at Josephine.

You saw Josephine open her mouth to speak, however, Thomas beat her to it and said "Unfortunately Sheila lost her tongue to a red-crested wombat. But she can sign, can't you Sheila?" Josephine glared at him before doing some sign language, which you were sure she was cursing him out in. "What is she saying?" Cathy asked. "She says everyone, please go up to the house and enjoy some ice cream." You said in a South African accent.

Thomas suddenly turned towards you,  Josephine and Penny and said "This year I made six million dollars." dropping his accent. "Impressive" You said, with false joy. "But together, we could make so much more. You guys are fantastic at what you do." Thomas said, pausing when he locked eyes with you again. He walked towards you and grabbed your hands. "My nana would love you." He said. You felt yourself begin to fall for him again before you snapped yourself out of it. You quickly dropped his hands and said "You played me." "Y/N, the only thing I never lied about was you." Thomas said, caressing your cheek and looking into your eyes.

You stared into his eyes until you heard Penny clear her throat. "Right." You said backing away from him. "We'll work with you. The first million we make pays us back and the second million will be your apology. And if you ever double-cross us again, then you'll never get that date." You said. "Deal." Thomas said, shaking your hand.

~Four Months Later~

Two police officers and another man are running and stop in front of a large christmas tree. "Damn it! We lost them." One of the police officers says. "How could you lose them?" The man says. "How could you give them 200,000 pounds?" The second police officer responds. Thomas begins to walk past the officers, but is then stopped by one of them saying "Hey buddy! Did you see two women run by a minute ago?" "Oh, yeah. With massive wads of cash?" Thomas asked. "Yeah." The officer responds. "They went that way." Thomas says pointing to the left.

The officers and the the man ran in the direction that Thomas pointed and after a moment you, Penny, and Josephine stood up in your christmas wrapping dresses from under the Christmas tree. "Lucky Christmas dress, you've done it again." Penny said as you all started to walk towards Thomas. "I must say, Penny, these outfits are terribly clever." Josephine said. "Old but gold." You said. As you reached Thomas, you gave him a hug and a peck on the cheek. You pulled out some of the money you had gotten from the man. "Merry Christmas, everyone!" Thomas said, as you all walked away.
