Emily Stone

"Have you submitted the file Aayan?", the guy sitting beside me asked

"I'm done with my work Brian, I'll take a leave", I said grabbing my coat and laptop bag and left

"Taxi...", I said waving a hand out to stop the taxi, "Orlando Street", I said placing my coat and bag on the seat. I pulled out my earplugs and played music on my phone. I was exhausted from all the work today so I didn't realize when I fell asleep in the car.

"Sir...sir...excuse me sir", the driver called waking me up

I slowly opened my eyes and looked outside the window. The car was a houses away from my house. I decided to walk so I got out of the taxi. It was still bright outside as I walked towards my house.

I unlocked the door and went inside. I threw my stuff on the couch and loosened my tie and unbuttoned my shirt. I went to get a drink from the fridge, so I walked into the kitchen. As I opened the door, I saw the fridge was almost empty.

"I think I should go to the store", I said to myself

I went to the bathroom to wash my face and hands. I took my wallet and left the house. I went to the store and took all the stuff for cooking, took a few beer cans and other stuff for home. As I was on my way back home, I decided to stop by the park to have a drink.

As I opened one of the cans, I saw a girl sitting on the bench across the park. I bent a little forward to get a closer look when I saw her face turning towards me. She started to wave at me. At first, I felt a little weird, but as I stood up to leave the place, I looked at her closely,

"Emily???", I mumbled to myself, "How is that possible?", I said

I saw the girl walking towards me. As she reached closer and closer to me, I was sure that it was Emily.

"Emily...oh my god...Emily Stone", I said excitedly

"How are you Aayan?", she said

"I'm good...omg...this is so surprising. You were in NJ right, how are you back?", I asked

"Just...came to meet you", she said

"Let's go to my place...come on", I said grabbing her hand

Emily, she was back. I was so happy to see her. It had been 6 months since she was transferred to work in NJ. There wasn't a day when I didn't miss her. I unlocked the door and we went inside. I kept the bags on the table and sat with her on the couch.

"I'm so happy to see you, Emily", I said. "Why haven't you contacted me for the last 2 months, I waited for you every day. I couldn't even get through to you"

"Actually, I broke my phone 2 months ago because of which I lost all the contact numbers. I'm sorry, I know I should've called you. But the number is still the same, I'm sorry", she said

"It's ok, I'm happy you're back in the city. So, where's Rihanna, she didn't come with you?", I asked

"Actually...Rihanna...um she didn't get the day off so...she'll be here next time", she stuttered

My stomach grumbled and I realized that I didn't even take a shower after coming back from work.

"Hey, let's order pizza, till then I'll take a shower and come", I said and opened my phone to give the order

"Then, it's two barbeque chicken pizzas and..."

"Cheese garlic bread", we said in unison and giggled

I went to my room to take my clothes and went inside the bathroom. I threw my work clothes in the laundry basket and walked inside the shower. I set the water to the correct temperature and let my body enjoy the water droplets from the shower.
