We all gathered around the door, Fairfin hiding in my hair once more as I stood to the back of the pack of dwarves, leaning against a pillar with my arm crossed, watching the door.

Gandalf opened the door and my eyes widened a little at the very different dwarf on Bilbo's doorstep. He is not the type of dwarf I expected to see. He is nothing like his company, dressed in finer clothing that could still take some hits from weather but made him look regal. He was taller than most dwarves here, making him taller than me, but that wasn't much of an accomplishment since Bilbo was only a hair shorter than me. His coal black hair is long and had parts done up in braids, a normal Dwarf look but a little more clean than the other dwarves present. His eyes however, really stood out to me. Cold and stern deep blue eyes, like icy waters or the gems dwarves loved to craft into things.

Fitting really, for a dwarf at least.

"Gandalf." He said in a smooth deep voice that, unfortunately for me, was extremely attractive. I forced those thoughts away in frustration with myself. "I thought you said this place would be easy to find. I lost my way, twice. I wouldn't have found it at all had it not been for that mark on the door." He said as he took off his cloak. He is wearing an interesting set of light armor mixed with clothing, his belt had an odd symbol, telling me that he might be royalty.

"Mark? There's no mark on that door. It was painted a week ago." Bilbo said, trying to check the door as Thorin's eyes scanned all the dwarves present, not seeming to spot me.

"There is a mark. I put it there myself." Gandalf said quickly before taking a breath. Seems like Gandalf wants introductions to go off without a hitch, "Bilbo Baggins, allow me to introduce the leader of our company: Thorin Oakenshield." Gandalf said, gesturing to Thorin.

Thorin crossed his arms and stared down at Bilbo intimidatingly. "So... this is the Hobbit. Tell me, Mr. Baggins, have you done much fighting?" He asked. Intimidating a Hobbit, somehow I have a feeling Thorin and I are not going to like each others ways of looking at things, even though his voice is way too attractive... as well as him. I pushed away those thoughts again and kept my mouth shut and temper under control. I was known in pubs for my temper, so this was new for me in trying to control my temper.

But, if this 'Thorin Oakenshield' continues to annoy me then I will give him a piece of my mind.

"Pardon me?" Bilbo asked, seeming nervous and confused.

"Axe or sword? What's your weapon of choice?" Thorin said, sizing him up as he walked around the nervous hobbit. I am starting to less and less of how attractive this dwarf is and more of how prideful he is.

"Well, I do have some skill at conkers, if you must know... but I fail to see why that's relevant." Bilbo said, nearly making me laugh as I grinned at the hobbit. The hobbit is made of stronger stuff than I thought him to be, I think Bilbo and I are going to get along great. Unlike me and Thorin. It will be pure luck if I don't feel the urge, at least once in this adventure, to punch Thorin Oakenshield in the face.

"Thought as much. He looks more like a grocer than a burglar." Thorin said, making my temper rise. Oh, I was really beginning to not like this dwarf, my nails dug into my hand a little as I tried to stop myself from speaking. Didn't work though, I never really have tried to rein in my temper before, never needed to.

I spoke without thinking, "Isn't the purpose of a Burglar to be silent and stealthy? I hardly think a Hobbit with an axe to be stealthy." I said, my temper showing though a bit in my voice. The dwarves closest turned to look at me wearily, probably shocked I was being so rude. I feel as though Thorin deserves it for how he was treating Bilbo so I really didn't care.
