A Girl Worth Fighting For // Chapter Eight
May 26th, 2020
2,315 wordsThis chapter is pretty gay and pretty sad. But as you read it and finish it, please let me know how I will write the next chapter! I don't know if I want to write it in Mulan's Perspective or the reader's. Or even both. And if both, the chapter will be longer. But if it's longer, it'll take awhile to publish. Which I don't mind... But I don't know if you all do. Just let me know :)
Also, do you like the new setup? For the timeskips, I added stuff so you know who's perspective you're reading. Much less confusing than the old ones, right? Now you can read the previous chapters without confusion :D
Also, thank you gals so much for getting this book to 1k views! On Tuesday, May 12 of 2020, we officially got to 1k views! Thank you so much!!!
Edit 5/27/20: my gals, I've realized there are so many mistakes in here so I unpublished this chapter. It's back up, obviously. But that's just to clear up the random unpublished chapter. I'm sorry ;-;
᯽︎Your POV᯽︎
"Y/n!" I hear my name being called and after staring at the snow, I whip my head to the side to see the male nurse from an hour ago. I get up from the blanket I sat on and walked to the tent where Ping and the nurse were.
"Yes?" I ask. I'm sure everyone can read my face that was full of visible concern. "Ping is healed. But he'll be resting on our way back. There's just something that I think you should-" I nod quickly and go inside, interrupting himself and ceasing his words.
The man doesn't follow me inside so I'm pretty sure whatever he tried telling me before is important. A shame that I interrupted him.
"Ping? Are you fine?" I ask, standing at the feet of the said soldier. He was covered by a thin blanket but he didn't look cold.
At the call of his name, Ping looks up at me with a soft smile and sits up. But as he does so, the blanket falls from his chest and I take a deep look at the bandages wrapped at it. He had a hump on his chest and now I know why.
"P-Ping?" I call in disbelief. He--
She looks at me and smiles. Her hair fell down to her shoulders and now I realize why it was so silky smooth.
Ping looks down at her body and in realization, she pulls up the blanket on her and clutches it close to her chest.
"Y/n- I-" I cover my mouth and fall to my knees, now realizing Ping's identity.
"Ping... Y-You're a-" She points her finger to her lips and I gulp. "I- I don't know what to say. This is all so sudden." Ping nods. Her hands land to my shoulders to comfort me. And it works. Yet, I'm still in shock.
"I know. And I'm so sorry that you found out this way. I should've told you sooner. I should've-" Ping's hands fall from my shoulders to my upper arms.
I start to stammer before words finally manage to make sense from me, "Is Ping even your real name? Am I being lied to? Are you even the man I fell-" The woman sighs and looks down, fidgeting with the blanket.
Ping muffles something and hugs me. Her hold is tight and she answers,"My name is Mulan. And yes, you've been lied to. And I am-" we hear footsteps come close and they stop. I look behind us to see the flap of the tent go up and in comes Shang.
"Y/n? Ping? I heard some news." Shang says as he steps inside. He sees Mulan and I hug each other. And unfortunately, the blanket wasn't there to cover her.
"I can explain!" Mulan cries. We hear more steps become louder and there stands Chi-Fu. I close my eyes tightly and seethe through my teeth.
Here we go with this guy.
