ii. the blizzard

On the twelfth hour of the first of october in 1989, forty three women gave birth. The forty three women had not been pregnant when the day first began. Eccentric Billionaire Reginald Hargreeves attempted to adopt as many of them as he could. He got eight of them.

the blizzard came when none of the members of the umbrella academy saw it coming. It happened on a mission like any other. The mission was stopping a human trafficking ring and saving the people abducted for it. Inside the building it was snowing and thirteen-year-old [Y/N]'s eyes turned white as the snow fell to the ground. Seventeen-year-old Klaus held her hand as they waited for the rest of their siblings to do their stuff first.

Allison would go in like always and used her rumor power. And the when shots were heard (or whatever weapon would be used), then Diego, Luther, and her would do their thing. [Y/N] never understood what Klaus did in theese situations. Allison did her thing, and they walked into the abandoned building that was secretly the base for the human trafficking ring. It was quiet as she and Ben made their way to the people in cages. Like animals.

"How do we get them out, Ben?" [Y/N] asked him.

"That's for us to know and you to find out." A man said, making the two superpowered teens turn in his direction. "We knew you would come for us. What better merchandise than humans with superpowers." He held a gun that was aimed for the pair of them.

Almost like an instinct, [Y/N] threw a bolt of ice at the man. The man reached for a shield (really? a shield? well actually it was a trash can lid) and redirected the stream of ice sorcery. And shot. Ben jumped in front of her and the ice shot through him, turning him to ice almost immediately. And the bullet from the gun made it to the temple of the ice sculpture that was once Ben. And the ice shattered. Like glass.

"No!" [Y/N] cried out as she tried to capture the broken ice shards with her hands. To try to put him back together. But Ben Hargreeves was no Humpty Dumpty. And he would not be put back together again. "NO!" [Y/N] shrieked, an array of ice and snow and frost shot out of her and a blizzard appeared.

The ice froze the locks and broke them. And [Y/N] couldn't control herself. Her eyes turned an icy white and her hair became white too. And her breath was visible with every one she took. And the blizzard raged. Now, the Umbrella Academy had another problem to deal with. Calming her down. But Five wasn't there to do it. Like he used to. No. That was Five years ago. While the remaining ones were gathering the hostages, Klaus went to go and calm down [Y/N]. And when he saw the pile of ice, he knew exactly what was going on. And Klaus, the girl's new favorite brother, wrapped his arms around her as she cried. Cried for the brother she had inadvertly killed.

This chapter is depressing. But seeing as we don't know how he died (at this point in April 2020), it was fitting. And most things that happened are indeed relevant in the story. To a certain extent. What are your thoughts on [Y/N] and her blizzard capabilities?

QotC: who is your favorite actor in the umbrella academy?

AotC: don't have one. But it would have to be tom hopper (luther) seeing as i've been watching merlin since it came out and the actor was percival in that, so i've been more exposed to him i guess.
