Chapter 7: California Love
Stella's POV
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Currently, I am standing on top of a ladder, hanging up party favours on the ceiling. "You missed a spot," Leila joked.

I looked down and saw Leila standing next to my ladder with a smile on her face. "Shut up," I responded back before climbing down the ladder.

"It looks amazing as always, Leila," I commented as I stared at all the decoration in the hallways.

"Thank you and I really appreciate you coming in early to help," Leila thanked.

"Ah, it was nothing. Besides, I had nothing else to do," I told her as I picked my backpack up off the floor, placing my arms through the straps so it could rest on my shoudlers. "See you later?"

Leila nodded her head before I folded up the ladder and picked it up. I walked down the hallway before bumping into JJ and Asher. "Woah, there," Asher said as he backed away from the ladder.

"Watch where you're swinging that thing," JJ commented as he dusted off his shirt.

I rolled my eyes at them and said, "You should of seen me coming and avoided the ladder. This thing is huge."

"She does have a point," Asher chuckled.

"Fine. Here," JJ said grabbing the ladder from my hands. "I'll return it to the janitor for you."

"Thanks, JJ," I smiled brightly at him.

"You owe me now," JJ muttered before walking down the hallway.

"Great, now he's gonna force me to be his wing woman one night," I told Asher as we walked towards our lockers that were conveniently next to one another.

"It can't be that bad," Asher stated causing me to laugh.

"One, have you met the guy?" I started off with. "And two, he always makes me act like the bad guy and pour a drink over him to get the ladies looking at him. Then he's all like "oh my gosh, I didn't deserve that. Someone want to help make me feel better,"" I mimicked JJ's voice towards the end.

Asher let out a chuckle and went "and that works?"

"Yes," I said nodding my head. "I don't understand. Like seven girls will go running towards him, every time. Then half way through the night, I'll start getting glares from the girls because JJ told them some random story that I did and puts all the blame on me."

"Damn, JJ," Asher said shaking his head right as we arrived at his locker. I already had all my books in my backpack since I was here earlier than everyone else besides student council, giving me the chance to swap my books out.

"One of these times, I'm going to get attacked I swear," I commented as I leaned on my locker, waiting for Asher to finish up.

"You ready for class?" Asher stated before stopping.

"What?" I asked confused by him suddenly stopping.

"JJ took the ladder so he could miss out on the quiz today. That dirty-," Asher stated before I cut him off.

"Oh my God, you're right. I could of used that excuse," I said sighing. "I'm gonna kill him."
