i look through your eyes

i can see my reflection but i can't close the blinds

if ever you want me, if ever you need me

i may not be conscious but baby, i'm honest

would it let you down if we don't grow up?

"Should we go through it again?" Niall shot us all a questioning look. Louis groaned.

"I don't even get why we have to practice so much. We sing the same songs all tour. We wrote the bloody songs!" Louis stood up, dramatically throwing down his sheet music.

"Guess that's a no," I said, taking out my phone to check it.

"Let's just go over it one more time, mate," Liam said, addressing Louis.

"What's the point?" Louis continued. I checked my phone again and slipped it back into my pocket, a bit disappointed. "Give me one good reason to stay and I will."

"We've got more concerts next week. One more week of concerts, then interviews, then we move on. Let's just practice one more time today and I won't make you practice again 'til the day of the first concert," Liam stated. Louis let out a long sigh and pouted a bit before responding.

"Fine, Dad, but only 'cause I don't want Niall over here to mess us up on the last song," Louis said with a childish grin in Niall's direction. I checked my phone. Again.

"What do'ya mean?! I wouldn't-"

"Alright, one more time," Liam interrupted, making sure Louis sat back down before he followed suit.

"But he-" Niall began again.

"I know he did, but can we just finish this, please? We can all go eat after this, we just have to finish," Liam pleaded. The prospect of food softened Niall up. I pulled out my phone to check it again and found that nothing had changed. No messages. No calls. I put it back in my pocket, tugging at the ends of my hair.

"Okay, okay," Niall said, admitting defeat.

"Ya know, that reminds me. I'm actually quite famished. I think some food could lift our spirits and we can start again after lunch, yeah?" Louis got up again.

"Louis-"

"That's a great idea!" Niall said, also standing up.

Liam blubbered unintelligible words before finally saying, "Let's just finish this, please, then you can eat all you want."

"Why not eat now?" Niall said.

"That's the spirit," Louis said, wrapping an arm around Niall's shoulders. I stared at the screen of my phone, completely oblivious to the conversation happening around me. I hadn't realized I had grabbed it out of my pocket again.

"I don't want to have to come back to the studio. We can just finish now!" Liam said, exasperated.

"How 'bout we just call it good? Then we can go eat right now and we don't have to come back or waste any more time rehearsing. It's a win for everyone!" Louis concluded.

"Louis," Liam groaned. The screen hadn't changed. Still blank.

"Harry isn't even payin' attention. We went through all the songs. We'll be fine," Niall reassured him. Liam mumbled under his breath.

"I'll take that as a yes," Louis said cheekily. "Besides, there are leftovers in the fridge!" he added as he rushed out the door.

"Those are my leftovers!" Niall shouted to him.
