"Roman!" Roman groaned in frustration as he walked through the halls of the castle trying to avoid people. "Roman!" He turned down a hall only to get grabbed. "Don't ignore me, Ro."
"I'm not ignoring you." Roman sighed as he looked back to see Remus in tears. "I'm just really busy."
"He's not here, Roman." Remus tensed as he slowly let go with a frown. "Emile. He isn't here. He didn't come with the crowd."
"I know your scared, Ray. I've been looking around. I don't have any answers for you." Remus shook his head furiously as he clawed himself with nerves. "Remus..."'
"You don't understand. I've been looking to. I've even been using my magic to try and find him. He isn't here." Roman's eyes set with a seriousness Remus could feel. "He promised me he would be. I even begged mother to ensure his safety. She said she would keep an eye out for him but no one has seen him. Not even in town. Ro... He's not here."
"I'm sorry, Ray. I just can't help. I'm sure he's safe."
"YOU AREN'T LISTENING TO ME ROMAN. HE ISN'T IN ROSA!" Remus yelled out as his tears spilled harder. "He isn't here. I went to his home. I looked. Things were packed and missing. Yet he isn't here. His parents said he was coming. Yet he isn't here. Roman... Virgil got him. I know he did. I just know it."
"If he is with Virgil..."
"He is, damn it."
"IF he is with Virgil..." Roman repeated with a firm look. "Than he is safe."
"Roman, I know you care about him but he is..." The air around the older sparked with tiny explosions making Remus tense with shock. He doesn't ever see ROman actually use magic. Sure Virgil had told him but until now he had never seen it in a way where it was obviously Roman who did it. Even back at the wall, Remus couldn't tell you for certain that the fire was Roman... until now. "Roman?"
"If Virgil has him he's safe. Virgil knows how much you care about Emile. He won't hurt him. Now... I really must go. I've very busy."
"I just told you that your psychotic boyfriend has my best friend and you're too busy to help?!" Roman froze on the spot as Remus's bright green eyes sparked electricity through the younger's hair. "WHAT THE FUCK, ROMAN?! I need my brother right now. Why won't you help me? What are you even doing?"
"I'M TRYING TO PREVENT A FUCKING WAR!" Remus reeled back as this blast of hot air tore throughout the place. His eyes went wide as he Roman's words hit him hard. "I'm trying to keep my people safe as well as Rosa. I'm trying to keep everyone calm all while mother is gearing up for a battle that doesn't need to happen..."
"Woah woah woah..." Remus cut Roman off with this sad and confused look. "Your people AS WELL AS Rosa. That almost sounds like you weren't talking about this kingdom's people."
"I wasn't." Remus was in shock as Roman turned away slightly. "Remus, I'm caught between two kingdoms that mean everything to me... my family... and my home. Virgil is my home, Remus. Yet I'm here trying to keep all the 'humans' from destroying each other in a pure panic. Instead of trying to figure out how to help my love because nothing here has anything info on what a fucking liche is. This castle is overcrowded and brimming with fear. I'm trying my best but I can only to so much. I'm SORRY. I cannot help Emile. I want to... But I'm spread to thin as it is."
"Virgil has him, Roman." Roman crashed as he leaned against the wall for support.
"Virgil is still that man that spent all that time with you, Remus. He's still the one that lights up over every flower. The one that nearly fainted when we showed him a kitten. The one that tried to start a revolution and jailbreak all the dogs out of the animal shelter." Remus laughed softly as Roman simply stared off. "He's still Virgil. Please... Trust me. Emile is safe with him."
"Even still Roman..." Remus broke down as he wiped his tears away. "...He isn't here with me."
"Remus..." Roman watched as his brother ran off and he crashed further. "I'm sorry."
"Wait, hold on, Babes." Virgil smirked slightly as a man with short fluffy, highly curly, black hair stood up and pointed lazily at him. Just like Emile, the man had blue and pink streaks although this one also had white too, like the trans flag streaked through his hair. "You telling us we're 'moving'?"
"No." Virgil chuckled softly as stood there, cape fluttering in the breeze. "I said I am moving. As I and or Thomas stated at your arrival, You are all allowed to leave at any time. None of you are expected to do anything. You are free to make your choices."
"Yet you just said..."
"Should any of you decide to remain with me and my creatures, my kingdom is open for you to make a home at. Yes..." The man smirked brightly as he crossed his arms and pulled his shades down slightly. "The only thing I would like for you all to do is to take what you've experienced and learned with us and show others it as well. That is all."
"How long until we start our journey to the Darklands?" Virgil's eyes went wide as the man stood up straighter. "I would like to know so that I can grab things, Babe."
"A few day's time. In that time, I ask you to assist in breaking things down, should you stay until the end or decide to join us. Otherwise, as I've said before you are free to go whenever and I wish you all a good life." Virgil tensed as his chest twinged suddenly. Thomas was at his side within seconds seeing the pain in him as he turned away.
"You pushed yourself too much." Virgil laughed as Thomas led him to a chair to rest. Virgil didn't miss how Emile and that one guy stood behind Thomas, both with worried looks. "If you intend on building you kingdom up like you want to you have to rest, Virgil. You're expending too much energy in your sickly state."
"I know... I'm sorry." Virgil sighed as he started to shiver badly. "I'll try. I just expect to sleep any really."
"As long as you try, Virgil." Thomas smiled as he ran his hand through Virgil's hair notice the thin white streaks that littered about it. "Should I do one last round of Rosa before we start packing?"
"I don't see a point. We've already shown so many people..." Virgil groaned as he pushed his head into his hands, wincing against the oncoming headache. "But if you want to... It's fine."
"I think I could use the silence." Thomas laughed as he turned over to the other two. His eyes met with the new one and he frowned. "Who..."
"Jeremy Mocha, yes like the coffee. Just call me Remy." Remy smiled as he stuffed his hands into his pockets and laughed. "Guess I'm the newest 'recruit'. Got nothing to return to and honestly I've gotten more fun here than I ever had so... Consider me your first official 'human' subject. Got a problem with that dragon guy?"
"Not at all." Thomas smirked with a laugh. "Keep an eye on him while I'm out?" Emile nodded making Thomas smile more. "Thanks. I'll be back."
