98: Epilogue Part 2

*Epilogue 2-4*
*Remus Day Parade*

"Today's the day, everybody UP!" Remus giggled as he ran around the place. The townsfolk had been working tirelessly on building homes and shops. This kingdom was slowly but surely coming together just as it should be. Roman and Virgil helped more then they should of but Remus felt he wasn't doing anything, despite what Emile constantly told him. Remus wanted to do something special for all the people who were still out there building and working. He wanted to make their stress just a bit better. "IT'S REMUS DAY!" So the young prince made his own holiday.

"Remus... day?" Remy mumbled questioningly as Roman just nodded. Virgil chuckled softly as he shrugged.

"He's happy so why not?" Virgil smiled as he nodded to Emile who was currently working sound design on the stage. Virgil carefully made his way up taken back by the sudden roar of applause that he was met with. "Oh... Well then."

"They love you, Virgil." Roman whispered as he joined his husband on stage. "You're a good king."

"It just... It surprises me a bit... like all the time actually." Roman chuckled as he nodded and allowed Virgil to walk out in front. Roman always did that. When it was them, whether it was standing or in the throne room, Roman stood behind his love. No one understood it really. In fact, many who came to talk with Virgil treated Roman rarely well thinking he was just some human servant or something. Roman always explained it like this.

He stood behind Virgil in respect for who he was as lich and all he's gone through to get to this point. He stands behind him to symbolize that he will always support his love and that no matter what he will have Virgil back. As well as, to show that he is behind him to protect his flank just as Virgil would protect Roman from the front. Roman stands behind to show that they are a team working together, the best way they can. They are not equals in strength and position, but they are dependent on each other for support and love. Besides no one can deny when Virgil steps forward leaving Roman there behind him... the look Roman has as he watches him... it's pure unabated love.

"I am very happy you all could make time out of your busy schedules to come here today. I assure you I will not keep you long. I simply wanted to acknowledge that today is..."

"REMUS DAY!" Remus squealed as he ran onto the stage throwing confetti around and making people giggle and laugh. "It's Remus day everybody!" Remus held his hand up towards the sky shooting lighting that danced about like a color show.

"Yes, Remus... It's your day." Virgil chuckled as he shook his head playfully. "Now for those of you who may not have heard much about... 'Remus Day', My little brother chose today to be a day of just... having fun. It's his own spin on a holiday for you all to relax and enjoy your life here in the Darklands. And as an added gift... He even set up something very special for you all to enjoy." Virgil beamed as he gestured out into the nothing only for Remus to giggle and take of running into that direction. 

"Everybody, watch this, ok?" Remus yelled out super loudly as he jumped for joy. "It's going to make you all smile so wide." He just continued to giggle as Virgil gave Emile a thumbs up. Emile nodded pressing a button and letting music spill out into the air. Remus smiled as he stood there sparking with electricity. He held his hand out and clapped so loud it echoed far and wide. A large bolt of lightning crashed down over the top of him with a flash of light only to reveal him standing there in a green circus ringleader like outfit, which white and black lightning bolt trailing his metallic green tailcoat. "Lady, Lords, and Non-binary royalty..." Roman gasped hearing his brother use his opening and Virgil just burst out into laughter. "Today is a day for you all to let loose and be free. So, in spirit of this day, please enjoy Darkland's very first..." Remus gestured behind him only for everyone to gasp at the darling creatures who all started to spill out in a line in time with the music. "REMUS DAY PARADE!"

People stood there in pure awe as the creatures marched and danced about. Remus ran out in front of them all leading them around as he danced and giggled. The hounds jumped through hoops as the trolls walked around with large hand-drawn signs. The arachnid, furies, and nymph made all these adorable outfits for the humanoid creatures. Each and every single one put so much effort into the parade not a single person was left without a smile. 

Remus was practically glowing as he sent the creatures around one last time. The young prince jumped on the stage radiating joy as he buzzed with energy. Virgil just nodded with a soft and relief filled smile, as he looked out at his subject lost in the moment. Remus was right. This was something the whole kingdom was in dire need of. A day to just... be.

"You did great, Ray." Roman lulled as he pulled his brother in for a hug. Virgil was honestly tearing up at the joy in all of his creatures too. They were all so happy. This was what the Darklands should have been. This was what it always could have been with the right hand. But Virgil was extremely grateful that it was at least now. This was his kingdom and he couldn't have been more proud of it. Roman brushed Remus's shocked and messy red hair out of his face as he just nodded. "I'm proud of you."

"I'm just happy it worked." Remus giggled as he pulled away and squealed as he ran out the stage almost as if he thought he would create a tornado. "Today is the best day. REMUS DAY FOR LIFE!"
