((**A/N** Hi, everybody!! I'm debating making either a Diabolik Lover x Reader request story, or a Diabolik Lovers Boyfriend Scenarios story. ...or both >:3c I'm not sure what to do yet, so please leave feedback telling me what you want to see!))

As soon as I say I'll do it, my anxiety doubles. I just agreed to become an idol. I think I'm about to hyperventilate.

"That's great, kitten!" Kou laughs, grinning wide. "I knew you'd say yes. You're a smart girl."

Once again, I flush. Compliments coming from him are almost too much to be real. I kind of can't believe that I said yes, but at the same time, how could I not? Kou's offer really is everything I've wanted. Even if I'm scared, I need to go through with it. I'd be missing the chance of a lifetime if I turned him down.

"Th-Thank you..." I stutter, unable to meet Kou's eyes. "I'll do my best for you! I-I'll make sure that you won't regret taking me on."

When I bow, I can hear Kou snicker.

"Aw, come on. You don't have to be so formal. We're friends now, right, Emi? You don't need to treat me like I'm your boss or anything. In fact... just call me Kou, okay? None of the worship-y stuff I know you're thinking." Kou makes it sound like it's no big deal at all.

"Ah, o-okay. Um..." I don't know what to say. I feel like I'm choking on whatever words might want to come out. Just hearing him say my name is a lot to process.

"Well, I need to get going. Here, get out your phone. We need to swap contact info so I can keep track of you, mkay?" Kou pulls out an adorably pink smartphone, turning it on and passing it to me. "Enter your number, if you would~"

I obey, typing my name and number in.

When I'm done, Kou types something, his fingers moving faster than I knew a person could text. The next thing I know, my phone is buzzing from my bag.

"There! I sent you a text, so make sure you save my info. I'll be getting in touch soon. As soon as I get some free time, we'll start on your training~!" Kou winks, flashing me an absolutely stunning grin. I'm so frozen I can barely speak.

"Y-Yes! I understand. Um, thank you, Kou. I'll be waiting patiently." I bow my head again on reflex. Even though I know he wants me to be casual, I can't help but feel like I'm talking to a superior. By all rights, I am. "Please, take your time. I wouldn't want to be a burden on you. I know you must be super busy..."

"Don't worry about it, kitten. I'll make time for you."

With those words, Kou reaches out and pats my head. He removes his hand way too quickly.

"Alright, I'll talk to you later! Bye-bye~" Kou jogs off after he says it, heading in the direction of what I know is a rather isolated park. That must be where he's planning to meet with his manager.

I stand there for a while, completely stunned.

When I pull out my phone, the text from him is right there. I stare at it for longer than I want to admit. Kou is really taking a chance on me. It's kind of hard to believe.

The walk home feels like it goes by in a blur. I know I completely missed out on getting Ruri-chan's merchandise, but at this point, I don't care a bit. What's a couple of limited CDs compared to what just happened to me? I have a text from a real idol on my phone, and an offer waiting to become what I've always dreamed of.

As soon as I'm home, I bolt up to my room, laying down and rolling myself up in the blankets like a sushi roll. I need some time to process this, I think, staring at the text message once again.

Oh, and I need to enter Kou's contact info.

Entering his name and number makes me squee a little bit-- a familiar sound from a fangirl like me. But I do it. It's saved. "Kou Mukami", right there in my contacts. I kind of feel like I've been hallucinating all day, but this somehow makes it real.

I lie in bed for a few hours, messing around on my computer and trying to take my mind off of the thing that's leaving me somewhere between panicked and so happy I can barely stay still.

Somehow, I wind up Googling Kou and reading through a bunch of articles on his career. He.. really is successful. Famous for sure. If I was to be endorsed by someone like him, even I might be able to get somewhere.

It's a staggering thought.

I'm on the internet well int the evening, just looking things up and browsing all kinds of idol info. Nothing too new for me, but there's a very different intent behind it than usual.

Once I've decided it's time for bed, I spend some time daydreaming (more like fantasizing) about what my idol career could be like. I know my stuff well enough to picture everything from costumes to album covers-- touching into a bunch of old ideas as I go. I haven't given this kind of thing serious thought for years, and having a chance to go back to it leaves a smile on my face.

As I'm about to fall asleep, my phone buzzes. It's a text from Kou.

Goodnight, Emi. I'm really looking forward to working with you

I stare at the text for a long time, trying to decide how to respond-- if I'm even allowed to. I've never had a chance to talk to someone like this, especially not someone as far out of my league as Kou is. Would it be weird to answer right away?

In the end, I type out a simple message, hoping that it won't come off as being too awkward. Then, I turn my phone off, hoping I'll wake up to another message in the morning.

Thank you! I look forward to working with you as well (^v^)
