How do you get back
To the past?
To what once was?
To joy?
To excitement?
To life?
How do you start the heart
Back into the rhythm of beating,
When you've managed a Code Blue
In full view of the
blue scrub-clad bodies
surrounding you?
Will an AED machine
Pulse you back into thumping?
Will the adrenaline,
Bursting through your veins,
Remind you that life isn't over?
What will be enough
To get the blood pumping again?
Will anything ever be enough,
For you to actually live again?
