He loves her to bits, and wouldn't want to leave her at all, but he'd either feel like she'd be in danger from being in a relationship with the number one hero, or he'd feel like their schedules were too different, feel guilty about not being able to be with her as much, and break it off so she could be with someone who could spend more time with her.
