All the dragon's were running out of their caves freaking out, some more than others. My father had done his best to train them in what little time we had. I could tell the cave dragon's were afraid, they had every right to be, they were not destined to be a warrior, that is why they were a cave dragon in the first place.
I stuck there frozen as a rock, I looked around and instantly ran into my families, I had not seen them when I was running over to the cave so they had to be in there surely right? I blinked trying not to worry about it as I was running.
Once I ran in I saw that my mother was pulling herself up as soon as I walked into the cave. The was looking around worried but then she nodded to me when she saw me run into the cave. Thankfully she was okay still, but I had not seen Mik or Plok in there with her.
I looked around, where were they? Were they the reason we had the initial incoming signal. I shook it off trying not too worry about it, usually when I worry about something too much, that is usually when something bad happens. Maybe they went on a bit of a walk with my father.
I had to hope so, I knew that my father wasn't going to be in camp normally. But why were Mik and Plok both out, I shook my head, I shouldn't worry about it in all honesty. They did that from time to time. Like than usual lately which is the reason I was so worried.
My father was a good, strong dragon, and my brother or my sister weren't half mad fighter either, I knew they could fight then off, right? As I thought more and more on it I realized that maybe they were attacked by a large group!
I shook my head once again, I knew no dragon alive would survive that. I did not even want to think like that, if that were true then I think a message like, "the leader is being attacked, and location." I shivered still thinking that they could all be trapped up together.
I looked at my mother as she was slowly pulling herself up as if she did not realize why she had woken up and the dire situation that was going on around the whole camp. I nodded to her, she knew what it meant and she began freaking out.
I could only think of the worst things of to why that might be true, Plok and Mik had gone on a walk with our father, that is what it had to be surely right? I shivered as she flew up and out of the cave, I realized that I had to follow her, I didn't want to be alone in this.
I flew out of the cave and looked around as to where she might have gone, then I saw her. Where she was flying to, it wasn't the path that normally my brother and sister went on thankfully.
It actually was to the path of the children... Still I did not want to be alone in this as I began running to my mother trying to catch up to how fast she was flying. I caught up to her, not because she wasn't fast, but because I was fast.
I heard another echo and once again, it vibrated until it was over to us, a watcher dragon that was nearby us shouted it to the camp watcher which we had already gone past. It was the worst fears of every dragon in camp...
"The kids! Help them!" The dragon yelled to the watcher that was in the camp. I shivered, it was as if my mother had the perfect instinct as to where the black dragons had gone to first. I always knew how nasty the black dragons were.
It was smart tactics, but it was a terrible thing to do in a war, to take out the kids so that they cant have anymore youth for later in the war. I shivered and then caught up to my mother he I could see had nothing but terror on her face.
"Mother are you okay? How did you know that they were at the baby dragon place?" I yelled to her when I caught up, the looked at me for a few seconds, with fear in her eyes but she kept on flying.
"A mother can always tell when her kids are in trouble." She said to me. I kept on flying, but in my head I was wondering what she had meant by that. Her kids? They were the kids of the whole tribe, but I had never thought of her calling them her own.
Then my mind began racing when I thought of the second possibility, Plok and Mik might have woken up early to go check on the elders and the baby dragons. I shivered, I didn't want to think of that, but it sounded like it was a strong possibility.
"Is that where Plok and Mik are?" I asked my mother. She kept on flying this time, flying even faster than before, so fast that even I was beginning to struggle to keep up with her.
"Yes... They told me that this morning, if they are there before the camp is then they were the first batch of the attack." My mother said to her. I nodded to her even though I knew that she was not looking. She was right, and now I feared for my brother and my sister.
I looked behind me for a few moments, I saw that a lot of dragons from the camp were flying out to help, I even saw some of the cave dragons that were flying as well. I realized why, some of them probably had kids that were there, or maybe it was just straight up for the pride of the tribe.
Red dragons were strong, they stepped up in the moments they were needed to the most. My father told me it was a trait that the red dragons had that the black dragons did it. The only thing red black dragons had were that they were bigger and stronger than us.
Which, I knew where to little spot that the kids were hiding, it was going to be some fairly close range matchups, which would not bode well for many red dragons. I shook my head and continued flying with my mother.
We were almost there now, and I could here the shouts and screams, not just from black dragons, but red dragons as well. I heard a couple of elderly screams, but I had not heard any screams of the young ones quite yet.
Me and my mother landed beside and I saw the mayhem that was unfolding in front of me. I felt sick, it was worse than my father had even told me about. I shivered, blood was all on the ground, there were dead bodies from not just black dragons, but red dragons alike, some that I had even talked to before. I looked at them sadly and then looked at my mother. But she was not there anymore, I instantly realized why.
At first I thought it was because she had seen Mik and Plok and she had run over to help them, but I then realized that it was not the case at all. I saw my mother pushed up against the wall by a black dragon. She was doing her best to hang in there, but she was clearly being beaten apart slowly but surely.
I began running over to help her, but then all of the sudden, something slammed be to the ground and then held me in place. I closed my eyes in pain for a few moments but then reopened them and saw the eyes of a black dragon staring at me.
I knew who it was, it was no dragon to mess with, those were the eyes of the great and strong black dragon Loi, he was smiling at me, it was a bit of a scary smile though. I spat on his face and he looked at me angrily and gave me a quick hard swipe to the face.
He then looked at me and he began laughing, he then wiped off the spit from his face, I realized now was my moments, this was the perfect chance to escape, he had one of his legs up wiping the spit from off of his face.
I quickly spun out of the spot I was in, it was not the best way of doing it but it was working so far, it was a move that I had been taught by my friends, but Socra said she could teach me a far better method of getting out of a sticky situation like that.
As I flew back and tried to run, he paw grabbed onto my tail at the last second and he slammed me down, he was smiling at me once again. He laughed and then he put his claws on me and then slowly began scratching down my belly towards my weak spot.
"Tell me kid... Where is your father? I will make this quick if you tell me now." He said to me. I looked at him with some great anger, I wanted to kill this dragon, but there was nothing that I could do in this situation.
I had heard to stories, how many red dragons he had killed in the last war. He was one of the strongest black dragons imaginable. Plyma had chosen him well, but they did not actually think they could beat the red dragons again this time did they?
"I don't know... Not let me go, or I will kill you!" I said to the dragon. It was a bit of a ballsy move on my part, he did not look afraid or upset at all though. He just began laughing and he made a quick painful slice to my weak spot I groaned in pain.
"Now... I am going to make this ex-" he began saying but he was suddenly shut down by a red dragon that threw him to the ground. I did not recognize the dragon, but I pulled myself up to help him, it was definitely a warrior dragon and he nodded to me and kept on fighting it.
Then 2 other dragons flew over to try and help, I knew those 2 for sure. It was Kip and Kota. I thought about helping them, it was a very strong dragon that they were fighting. But Kip and Kota were both fairly good fighters. 3 on 1 should be enough.
I looked over to where my mother had been fighting that other dragon. I did not see her there, I felt a small tingling sensation for a few moments that she might be dead. But I saw her with my brother and my sister, they were fighting 2 dragons, but all 3 of them were good fighters, and I could tell those 2 black dragons were not.
I flew over to help them, I tackled the dragon that Plok and my mother were fighting to the ground. I then cut into him deeply in several different areas, my mother and Plok did their best to help me as well.
Once I thought that the black dragon had enough I pulled myself off of it, he was yelling in pain and crying, Plok nodded to me with a smile on his face and so did my mother. I then realized that we had left Mik on a 1 on 1 in close range. I spun around to her, it was a fairly close fight, but 4 vs 1 would give that dragon no chance.
I ran towards her, but as I got closer, I saw, there was a huge scratch on both of Mik's eyes. She had been cut deeply there just a few moments ago that I had not seen. Now the black dragon was taking over, Mik could not see anything. Was she blind now?
I ran over and both me and Plok threw him down, this time, I was in such anger that I went towards the weak spot. I cut right into it as deep as I could and the dragon fell down not fighting anymore. Plok looked at me a bit upset.
"Why did you do that?" Plok said to me. I saw a bit of a disgusted look on his face, I could not blame him. He was heavily against killing another dragon, he had spared Penta's life the other day. But this dragon was not Penta. "That dragon could have a family back home waiting for him."
I looked at the big black dragon for a few moments, I felt a bit bad. I knew my brother was right. I looked back at Mik, she was looking around a bit confused and my mother was holding her and crying. I knew what it meant, the black dragon had made Mik blind.
"Are you kidding me? They were attacking us! Look at Mik, because of this dragon she is blind now." I said to Plok. He looked over at Mik for a few moments, then he looked back over at me with a but of a sad look on his face and then he nodded.
"I suppose you are right... We need to take care of the rest of the dragons on here now. Come help me, we need to find a safe place for Mik and our mother first." Plok said to me. I nodded to him and then I looked around at the clearing, at first it seemed that the black dragons were winning, but after the big swarm of our camp came in, it kind of evened it out.
I nodded to Plok, and then we began taking my mother to the cave which the babies I could hear, were crying in. I saw many dead elder dragon bodies sitting at the end. They had probably sacrificed their own life to save the baby dragons.
I shook it out of my head and then we kept on running over, making sure that Mik did not run into anything on the way there. Once we were the we put Mik and my mother in the end. Then we ran over to help some of the dragons that were warriors that were protecting the entrance.
I did not see a single body of a warrior dragon nearby thankfully, so we were still strong in that aspect. I ran over to a red warrior dragon, he was in a bit of an uncomfortable situation on a 1v2, I threw 1 of the black dragons down and then went higher up and began throwing quick scratches on it.
It could not hit my from that range, the legs of a red dragon reached out much further than the legs of a black dragon, even without me being fully grown. Then black dragon gave up and he yeilded. I gave him one last quick little sting and then I pushed myself off of the black dragon.
I ran over to help the red dragon with the other dragon, he had gotten back up, but I could tell the the red dragon was not in the best condition right now. I grabbed the black dragon, he looked at me a bit surprised, when he noticed who I was the son of he got a bit of a scared look. I then cut into his weak spot just a fair bit, he then got up and then ran into the sky, he flew out in the direction outside of our territory.
I looked around, looking for Plok, I saw him helping another dragon and taking a black dragon down, once it was down and had given up my brother let go of the black dragon. I flew over to him quickly and he nodded at me when he saw that it was just me.
Suddenly I heard yelling from the sky, but the yelling was coming from the black dragon. It was a yell of fear, I looked up and I saw tons of red dragons suddenly gliding in. They were not dragons from our tribe though, I could spot the red dragons from 2 other tribes.
Both me and my brother nodded to each other in happiness, the tribe was going to be safe, hopefully this war would be over as soon as it had started. But where was Plyma? And where was my father? They had to be fighting somewhere right?
Suddenly a large black dragon put Plok to the ground, I ran over as fast as possible to try and help my brother. But as soon as I ran over to the black dragon, it was too late. He dug deep into my brothers weak spot, laughing the whole time.
My brother looked at me sadly one last time, then his eyes went shut. As I was running towards the black dragon... I noticed him to be Loi, but I did not run towards him in fear, but instead I ran towards him in pure anger.
Everything slowed down for me, I knew no matter how angry I was I would not be able to take down this large black dragon. Maybe one cut to the weak spot, I shook my head as I slammed into him, I would die trying, just like my brother.
When I ran into him, unlike the other black dragons, he did not fall to the ground. He stumbled a little bit but then he began laughing at me. He moved closer towards me, but this time I slid underneath him and cut on the underside of his belly.
I noticed his weak spot and tried sliding into it, but suddenly he slammed his stomach down on me, I yelled in excruciating pain. He began laughing once again. There was no way out of this one, I was stuck here. I was going to die here. But at least I would die for the good of a tribe.
I saw a cave dragon run over to try and help me, I tried shaking my head but it was too late. Loi quickly slammed the cave dragon down with just 1 of his paws and then he sliced right into the dragons weak spot. The cave dragon didn't yell at all, much like Plok.
I looked at my brothers body sadly, it was just sitting on the floor. Just like mine was about to be. My legs were spread out and there was nothing I could do to try and get them unstuck.
The black dragon laughed at me when I even tried. He then spit a little bit of fire on the side of my face as I tried turning and closing my eyes when I saw him about to do it. It burnt the left side of my face and I yelled in pain once again. But it wasn't just a quick burst of pain.
The fire went deep into the insides of my face, clearly this dragon was not only strong in strength but he was also strong when it came to breathing out fire. I shook my head, trying to shake of the amounts of pain.
My eyes were closed still, I could not here anything around me. All I could hear was Loi laughing. I sat still and just awaited the death to come, I was ready to see my brother in the afterlife. But suddenly the pain of him standing on me was just suddenly gone.
I looked up a bit confused, there was nothing on me anymore. I looked behind me and I saw that Socra and my father were both standing there scratching deep into Lois body. I saw the great amount of pain in my fathers face, he had seen Ploks lifeless body obviously sitting down beside me. I ran over to try and help both of them.
Socra and my father had already had him pinned down by the time my I had gotten over to them. Once I was over I immediately without hesitation went straight to Lois soft spot. But my father held me back before I could do that.
"Dad! He killed Plok! Let me kill him!" I said to my father. He looked at me for a few moments but then he shook his head at me. I looked at him angrily, not at my father but more angry at Loi because he had just killed my brother.
"No... I will kill him after the questions..." He said to me. I looked at my father and then nodded. My father then looked back at Loi once again with a very angry look on his face. "We can do this one of 2 ways... Painfully and slow, or quick and fast."
It was about the same thing that Loi had originally said to me not too long ago. I wondered, what had happened to Kip and Kota if he had managed to somehow make it out of a 1v3. I was more upset at the death of my brother though, rather than the death of 2 of my closest friends. My brother was my closest friend in the end.
"Quickly please... Ask me whatever it is you need to." Loi said. I looked at him a bit surprised, surely he was lying right? But the look on his face was not a look of a lie. My father nodded to him and then let Socra off of him.
I looked around us, the fighting was over now. There were dragons looking at Ploks dead body a bit sadly, but most of the dragons around the area were trying to catch what was going on right here. They all knew who Loi was and they had a bit of an excited look on their face when they saw my father had him held down.
"You always were a smart one Loi... Now, tell me... Where is Plyma? I noticed he took about half of the black dragons here." My father said to Loi. Loi looked at him for a few seconds and then he nodded my father.
"Well... He is out terrorizing the cities of humans... He wants the extinction of humans just as much as the extinction of red dragons. I don't know his exact location... He moved around a lot, this is not a lie." He said, making sure my father had heard what he had said on the last part.
I thought for a few moments that he might be lying, but I noticed that he was being 100% truthful. I looked at my father he nodded to him and then looked at Socra and nodded to her and well.
"So... They are looking for the last of the humans that can see us. How many of them are there?" My father asked him. He looked at my father for a few moments, for a few seconds I thought he was going to spout a lie. Instead he just laughed and then shook his head.
"Oh... Too many to count, he thought 3000 black dragons were going to be enough. He didn't know his own daughter was going to betray him. I would say that there are up to 100,000 black dragons out there." He said to my father. I looked at the black dragon a bit surprised but then I shook my head.
"Impossible... There were less than 10,000 last war." My father said to Loi. Loi just laughed and then he shook his head. I could tell that Loi was not lying... How was this possible! There was no way the could over populate this fast.
"No it is true... All 250 years or younger, just near their peak condition... Plyma has been repopulating every female dragon as fast and as young and old as possible." Loi said to him. My father looked at him a bit surprised and a bit scared at the same time.
100,000?! We had less than 10,000! We would stand no chance in this war, no matter how good we were at fighting. My father looked at Loi for a few moments and then he nodded. A lot of the dragons, from multiple tribes alike had ghasps of shock.
"Calm down... I have spoken with 1 of the humans... He is here to help us. This will be a long war... We must play this smart. We will win!" My father yelled to all the dragons around him. A lot of them nodded, but many of them did not look like they believed him or had any faith that we had a chance.
My father then looked back at me and Socra, then he looked at my brothers dead body for a few moments. My mother walked over to us, she had nothing but tears on her face. She cried and then curled herself next to my father. I looked around and saw Mik not too far away. I could tell she was not blind, but she would have trouble seeing the rest of her life.
"I'm sorry Himla, they told me they were going to check on the babies, I did not know it was going to be so soon! This is all my fault." My mother said to my father. My father looked at her for a few moments, a bit surprised but then he nodded to my mother. I looked at her a bit angrily.
"I do not blame you my love, they are their the age to make their own decisions... This is war!" He said at first to my mother, then the last part he shouted to the tribes of red dragons. They all shouted back to him, a lot of dragons now looking excited.
Once they were done shouting my father then looked over at my brother. He then said something queitly that only me, my mother, Mik, and Socra could hear.
"This is it... This is our last goodbye."
