Levi x Reader - Her Reckless Behaviour

Remember

I wake up to the sound of multiple tents being opened and the soothing sound of Erwin yelling. It must still be dark considering there isn't much light peeking through my tent. After stretching I change my clothes and head out of my tent. I fold it as tightly and neatly as possible before heading to where the other cadets are. After the commander notices everyone is close enough he starts telling us what the plan is.

"We will head into the town and gather as much information from the town as possible. There will most likely be titans in the area so keep your eyes open. Make sure your tanks are full and you have enough blades, we will be heading out soon." Once done with his speech everyone agrees and salutes in unison.

I head over to my horse which is further away than the other horses. I give it a carrot I took from the kitchen before we left as a treat and I stroke its mane.

"You should braid it,"

"Hm?"

"The mane, it would look...cute," I let out a chuckle as I hear the captain say cute in such an odd way.

"Why do you say it like that?" I continue stroking the mane as his footsteps get closer

"Tch- whatever,"

"I'll do it when we get back to HQ," I give him a quick glance with a smile. He pats my head before heading back to where everyone else is.

Once everyone is set and ready to go we head off. The sun isn't up yet so the titans aren't attacking. We arrive at the town as the sun slowly starts rising allowing for some titans to wake up. Were told to get off our horses and use our ODM gear. I stand on a roof with Eren and Armin as we watch titans fall.

"Why are we here again?" I ask looking away from the titans and looking at both Armin and Eren, only to receive shrugs in return. "Hmm, alright," I watch a few titans that have spotted us and are now heading our way so I run across a couple roofs to meet them halfway.

I stick my hooks into the eyes of one titan and run over its head to slice its nape. Another titan reaches to grab me but I slice its hand right before it can catch me. Hooking onto its neck I land on its shoulder and run over hooking onto its upper back I jump to give me enough momentum to slice the nape. I let out a sigh as I land on the ground and look around. My eyes widen as I look at the houses around me remembering that day.

Tears fill my eyes as I let go of my blades and my knees meet the ground. A flashback to the titan having Josh in his grip flashes before me. Then everything disappears around me and I am taken back to that  moment. Rewatching the titan grab and eat Josh and I feel a tightness in my chest. In the distance I hear my name being called. The same voice is now closer and breathing is getting harder. A sharp inhale snaps me out the flashback when the air doesn't fill my lungs. I stare straight into a grinning wide eyed titan and as if in slow motion it's hand is brought closer to its mouth. I can't move. I just watch not being able to do anything and i'm reminded of the night before and I close my eyes as I remember the warmth of being held in Levi's arms and it brings a smile to my face.

Then I feel myself fall. Taking a sharp deep breath my lungs fill with air and my eyes shoot open. To find stormy grey eyes looking intently at me.

"Hey, Levi," I say weakly with a smile brushing my face as I slowly close my eyes.

"Hey, (y/n)," he strokes my (h/c) hair softly, his voice matching the strokes. As slowly as I closed my eyes I open them as I try to sit up.

"Um sorry about that, think I lost myself a little bit,"

"Mhm" his eyes continue to observe as I try standing. He follows me up as I manage to stand. I feel my ODM gear and luckily it all seems to be okay. Nodding over to a roof I manage to get up on it and the captain follows.

"Don't do it again," his usual cold voice followed by his cold eyes now looking at me. I give him a small nod as I watch a titan get close. I ready myself as I plan out a move. I fall back down to a street and start running towards the titan. "(y/n), you idiot!"

As I get close to the titan it reaches down to grab me but before it can I chop its hand off. I run under it and grapple on to the back of its neck before spinning and cutting off the nape. Another titan starts running over to me. I hook onto its foot before cutting the ankles and heading up to cut the nape but the captain beats me to it. I let out a scoff as I head to the roof of a house, the captain following me. I turn to look over at the other cadets flying around. I hear the captain land on the roof and I turn around and grab his arm which was on its way to smack me across the head. In shock I feel my eyes widen as I realize what I just did.

"I-im sorry captain," I quickly let go off his hand and he looks at me with an eyebrow raised.

"Hm," he quickly goes to punch me and I move just as fast. Not taking into consideration the size of the roof, I slip. As I'm about to fall backwards something in me allows me to flip back onto another roof. Not knowing how I managed to get onto this roof I sit down and place my head in my hands. I hear someone softly land next to me before they quickly leave and I hear a loud thump then they softly land again. I look up just to make sure it is who I think it is before putting my head back into my hands.

"Don't say anything," I mutter and he sits down next to me. I a flare in the distance but I keep my head in my hands.

"The missions done, we can head back," he places a gentle hand on my back as I nod my head in understanding. He gets up and I'm alone for a few seconds before another pair of footsteps lands on the roof.

"(y/n)? We can retreat now," I look up at Eren and give him a quick smile as he extends his hand to help me up.

"How do you feel?" I ask as we head to our horses he gives me a shrug.

"We didn't lose that many cadets. So, I guess okay."

"Hm," We reach the horses after a few minutes of silence and we head back to the same area from the night before. Since it got dark fast we are to set up camp and by tomorrow evening we should be back at HQ. As I set up my tent I ask myself what they needed to go to my city for. At least they got what they needed though. I fall asleep quickly wanting to wake up in my bunk instead of this hard ground.
