"(y/n)! watch out behind you!" I swiftly turn around slicing the nape of a titan before landing on a branch next to Armin to thank him.

I then casually fall, landing softly without the use of my gear. The metal of the ODM gear fills the forest as the others land. We then head over to our horses staying alert during our conversations.

"What do you guys think is for dinner tonight?" asks Sasha fiddling with her gear

"Um," Eren places a hand up to his chin as he looks up at the trees. I copy briefly closing my eyes at a gust of wind. 

"Probably soup and some bread," I shrug as I look over at her and watch as her eyes widen hearing that there may be bread at dinner. I giggle at her reaction but quickly we all become silent as the distant footsteps of titans fill the forest.

"Let's get up there," I say quietly pointing at the trees with my chin before we quickly use our ODM gear.

I land on a tree a bit further forward to see if I can spot the titans only to be startled by Levi.

"Shit," I say bending forward a hand on my now quickly beating chest. "You can't be doing that, oh my..." I take in a deep breath before placing a hand on my waist above my gear. I look over at him, his eyebrows raised in amusement. 

"We have to get going," his voice not matching his face, instead it's more serious.

"What? There are titans headed this way, we can't-," 

"We're leaving," his voice stern as I stand. I glare at him before stepping off the branch to let the other cadets know. 

I stare intently ahead as Armin falls next to me before gripping onto a tree ahead.

"Hey, (y/n)! How are you doing?" He yells and I look over at him as I release the grappling hooks 

"Something feels off," I look back before shooting towards another tree

"How so?" 

"I don't know but," I look behind me before dropping next to our horses, "I need to go back Armin," He lowers his head before looking back up at me with a closed eyed smile,

"Then we'll go with you!" Then out of nowhere Eren and Mikasa drop in. I let out a small chuckle as I shake my head.

"No," I look down at the ground before kicking the dirt and looking up, "No, I can't let you guys come along," 

"(y/n), we can help-"

"Eren please," I give him a small smile, placing my hand on his shoulder, "I can't risk it, we don't know what is coming our way," I let out a sigh, "Just head back and someone asks where I am just make something up okay?"

They hesitate for a while before giving me a nod in return I give them a smile before they ride off to catch up with the rest of the cadets. I look up at the trees letting out a sigh before shooting off. 

"The footsteps are so much closer now," I whisper to myself. I turn to glance back to make sure no one is following and before I can face forward a force pushing me to the ground. 

Everything feels slow as I cough from the impact of the fall. Im struggling to fight the person on top of me as I flail my legs and try throwing punches. I take deep breaths as I try to get an idea for who is on top of me but everything is blurry as the dirt fills the air around us. Everything is slow and muffled before I hear what sounds like a deep voice.
