The Wedding Planner

Chapter 1

"India's Most Eligible Bachelor is all set to Be Hitched", stated a leading Entertainment portal. Sidharth Shukla, the man of the hour, took a deep breath as he sipped on his morning coffee and read the news.

It wasn't a rumour. He had finally decided to settle down. Sidharth had always dreamt of getting married. It may sound unusual for a man to want a marriage, a family so early on but he had always lived a planned life. He had these fixed 5 year plans for him and his life and he had always wanted to get married by the time he was 30, and well settled in his career. He knew that running a company, being an actor, balancing his responsibility and his hobby was a tough job. He wanted a family but only when he was sure that he could devote enough time to them. At this point in his life, he had everything and so settling down seemed like a wise idea. 

He was lost in his thoughts when a little girl, 4 years of age, came running into his room and jumped on him for a hug. Niya, as was the name of the girl, was the apple of his eyes. All his thoughts disappeared  as he saw Niya sitting on his lap. "Good morning Princess! Aj itni subah subah yaad aa gayi aapko meri?", he questioned as he planted a kiss on her cheek. Niya made a cute pout and said, "I came here to complain about Mumma. She said she won't have time to take me to Disneyland this year because she is already taking a long break for the wedding". Sidharth chuckled at her innocence and said, "What if I tell you, that all three of us will go to Disneyland after the wedding is done? Will that make you happy?" Niya just nodded her head and smiled contently.

Nityami, who was watching the entire thing, standing near the door, had tears in her eyes, happy tears. She silently said "thank you" to the universe as she saw the two most important people in her life happy. She entered the room, pretending to not hear a word and said, "What are you guys up to?". Sid and Niya just looked at each other, as if sharing some inside joke and started laughing. "Mumma, we know you heard everything. You always listen to our secret conversations and then pretend like this". Nityami also chuckled hearing this. 

Nityami was the daughter of late industrialist, Ramesh Singhania. Mr Ramesh and Mr Shukla (Sid's dad) were best of friends. Nityami also knew Sidharth since childhood, but for a major part of their lives they were more like acquaintances. It was only over the last 5 and a half years that they had grown so close. After Sid had returned from UK, where he had gone to complete his MBA, did Nityami and Sidharth become good buddies. And now, this friendship was turning into Marriage. Yes. India's most eligible bachelor was tying the knot with Nityami Singhania.  Although Niya wasn't Sid's biological daughter, he loved her the most. He had been there for Nityami since the early stage of her pregnancy and hence, even before Niya came in the world, Sid had already developed a bond with her.

Both Nityami and Sid had a past and they helped each other deal with it. But did they really love each other? Was love the real reason behind this marriage? Only they knew. But for the world, they were the Perfect Couple. #SidyamiKiShaadi was the talk of the town. Of course, Sidharth's parents were happy. They knew about Sid and Nitya's bond and they loved Niya as their own grand daughter. Everything seemed perfect.

 The wedding was going to grand. Neither Nitya nor Sid had any such intentions but they had a reputation to maintain.  They decided to go with the flow and since Niya wanted to witness the "Big Fat Indian Wedding", they realized no one will listen to them anyway. Nityami being a perfectionist, assured Sidharth that she will make sure everything is perfect and decided to look for Wedding Planners online.

So, this is the first chapter of The Wedding Planner. NItyami and Niya are very important characters, along with Sidharth and Shehnaaz. As the story unfolds, we'll know more about the connection between Sid and Naaz, the relation between Nityami and Sid, reason for the marriage etc etc.

This is my first FanFic and since I am a little late to this, all good topics have already been explored so I wanted to try this one out. Hope you people read it and like it.
