Chapter 6

the next morning I woke up happier than I normally do. I don't know why. but it might be because I met someone who cares for me and I met someone to care for!

I got up later than normal cause today's my day off. I walk into the kitchen with a yawn only to grab a banana "Good morning Mia!" I said rubbing my tired eyes. "Morning, Hyunjin left his jacket here last night" I walk towards the living room and sure enough there it was laying on the couch, I sigh and walk back to the kitchen 

"I'll head out in a bit to return it" I stated and that's when she dropped her book and looked me dead in the eye "Can I go with you??" I laugh lightly with a nod and told her to take a shower and we'll leave, she didn't hesitate. she got up and started getting ready 

I wore this along with some black legging and black vans. 

I wait a few minutes after hearing the shower turn off then I grab my keys and purse and wait for her in the living room with his jacket in hand. what I failed to realize was when I held his jacket it felt like I was holding him. this was a feeling I could get used to

returning his things to him at work as if we're a couple. but I know that will never happen, he doesn't even like me like that. his scent filled my nose and I realized that I fell in love with a boy who's an idol, they have rules and he would never want to be with someone like me

I sigh and just then Mia walked around the corner, she wore casual clothes and simple makeup, not too much. I smile at the sight of the beautiful 15-year-old in front of me. "aye, don't think I didn't see that sad look" he sat on the couch beside me and place her hand on top of mine

"what's the matter?" she asked with soft eyes and a soft smile. "nothing I'm fine!" I say with a smile trying to fight the urge to cry. "you're not fine" she stated. and she was right. nothing about me was fine, I was falling apart at the seams and I was so good at hiding it

I took a deep breath before looking at her as a tear runs down my cheek "I'm in love with Hyunjin" her mouth fell open as if she didn't expect that to happen. I look down at y fidgeting with my fingers

"and he's an idol, while I'm a nobody" I stated simply. that's when Mia softly laughed "we'll see about that. but don't you have a jacket to return?" she asked standing up and lending me a hand which I took gratefully

we got up and walked out the door. I locked the door before we started our walk towards the company, which thankfully wasn't that far and it gave Mia a chance to get some fresh air.

once we got to the company I showed the guards my badge and they let me in. it was pretty crowded today so Mia took my hand, both of us afraid she'll get lost. I came to realize very quickly that Mia is afraid of everyone, besides me. 

when she takes a package from the delivery man she starts shaking. when new people are around she'll go hide or she'll be quiet and not make eye contact

soon we arrive at their practice room, I knocked only to have it opened by Hyunjin this time instead of Chan. I smile when I see him "Y/n!!" he said as he hugs me and the steps aside we could walk in.

I turn to Hyunjin "you left your jacket at my place last night" I explained I heard the rest of Stray Kids start teasing us. I blush lightly I turn around "guys, this is Mia-" I felt Hyunjin wrap his hands around my waist but I push it off as him being touchy like he is with all his members. "-I'm Mia's legal guardian" I stated

everyone said nice to meet you to Mia before Chan spoke "we just started out 30 minutes break, so you got time to hang out?" he asked and I nodded. 

They apparently already had food, they said they over ordered from a new restaurant so they had extras

I smile as I nom on a chicken wing. We were sitting on the floor talking and getting to know each other. I was in awe of how well Jeongin and Mia got along. They were like best friends who havent seen each other in years

I was to focused on the child i was looking after that i didnt realize the arm snake around my waist till it gripped my hip when he laughed

I turn and look into his eyes "you have wing sauce at the corner of your mouth" he said. I wipe at the corner and miss assuming by the laugh that came from Hyunjin next to me.

"I'll get it" he leaned in and placed his lips like an inch away from mine. I was bright red and wide eyed as he pulled away and looked into my eyes "got it!" He said with a smile

I hit him playfully "stop playing around" I said with a laugh. It was my first instinct.. I didnt mean for it to sound so mean

But if I'm being honest my heart was going wild inside my chest and it took everything in me to keep it from coming right out of my chest

I turned to face Jisung on the other side of me so Hyunjin doesnt see the dark blush that covers my entire face

But even though I turned him down, his arm never left my waist and I could tell by the look Chan was giving we, Chan is getting suspicious
