I fought with a monster today,
It was strong and it was frightening
It left me shivering on my knees,
My legs curled up under me.

It left me shaking in my shoes,
My knees about to hit the floor.
I fought with a monster today,
It was huge and it was horrifying
I left it writhing in the dust,
And walked away,
My head held high, my scars enough.
