I saw the glint of magic in your eyes and smiled along with you,
We laughed as the wind blew through our hair,
Racing past plains and squares
Invisible to the rest of the world, as we danced along
To the harmony of the birds and the stars,
The mild melodies of the meadowlarks,
We sang to the full moon as stardust shimmered down on our faces,
We spun our way through the storms and mighty forest glazes
And for a moment time stood still,
As I looked at you and wondered,
How the universe would look without you in it,
It was like the darkest of nights had descended and the moon no longer aglow,
It was as if my wings had been broken and I was stranded alone at the bottom of the ocean floor,
Horror dawned on my face,
as I realised my worst nightmares,
I begged for forgiveness to the almighty above,
For all the times I questioned why,
And thanked him for the friend who stood right in front of my eyes,
I know everything magical and wonderful comes to an end,
Even you and I
But till then,
let's keep flying across open skies.
